DESIGNATION OF POLLING PLACES FOR 2021
Proposed Action
Staff recommends adoption of the following motion: Move to approve a resolution designating
polling places for 2021 elections.
Overview
According to State law, municipalities must designate polling places for each election precinct for
the following calendar year. There are currently 18 voting precincts in Lakeville. A polling place
must be located within the boundaries of the precinct or within one mile of one of those
boundaries. There are no polling location changes proposed for next year.
Primary Issues to Consider
Currently there are no state or city elections scheduled in 2021.

RESOLUTION DESIGNATING POLLING PLACES
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 204 B.16, subdivision 1, requires the governing body of a
municipality to designate a polling place for each election precinct by December 31 for the
following calendar year; and
WHEREAS, polling places shall be located within the boundaries of the precinct or
within one mile of one of those boundaries.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lakeville
hereby designates the polling places of 18 election precincts as described on the attached exhib it
for elections held in the year 2021.
ADOPTED by the Lakeville City Council this 21st day of December 2020
