Overview The 2020 5th Special Session of the Minnesota Legislature included passing of a capital investments (bonding) bill. The bonding bill allocates $260,000 to the City of Lakeville to reduce erosion and improve the water quality of Orchard Lake. The funding is provided in the form of a Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MnDNR) grant and is subject to the requirements of Minnesota Statutes. Prior to applying for the grant, the City must make an official request for the funds. Primary Issues to Consider • Following approval of the City’s application, City and MnDNR staff will prepare a Grant Agreement with the State of Minnesota that will provide the terms, conditions and provisions for disbursing the funds. The Grant Agreement will be placed on a future meeting agenda for City Council consideration.
