B- REMARKS
1. General Notes
1.1 The Pile location is assumed as shown on sketch (Section D).
1.2 The minimum embedded depth of the pile is equal to the highest value of:
a. Depth to reach the required torque;
b. Below the frost line;
c. 5 times the upper helix diameter
d. Minimum ambedded depth for lateral resistance
1.3 The minimum distance between the piles equals the greater of: 3' or 3x the maximum helix diameter.
1.4 Safety factor = 2
2. Loads
2.1 Axial loads are based on the given configuration and location using the applicable loads according to approriate building code.
2.2 Lateral loads calculated based on the configuration and location of the project.
3. Soil Conditions
3.1 No soil report (Geotechnical report) available
3.2 Pile test is required
3.3 Soil characteristics:
a. The soil is assumed to be flat, firm and provide lateral support for the helical piles; Water Table is assumed below the helices

4. Helices
4.1 The helices must be placed in an undisturbed soil.
4.2 The first(upper) helix must be located below any fill material
5. Braces
5.1 Braces pile position is shown in the drawing, starting from the second axis.
5.2 The braced pile's installation is not less than 3'' from the home's closest lateral beam
5.3 Pile installation as per the manufacturer's manual
5.7 Fastener components must be free from dirt and moisture.
C- PILE LOCATION
4.3 Due to the absence of the geotechnical report to calculate the depth, size and number of
helices, the piles capacity is to be verified through the installation torque method.
5.4 The pile number was determined using an overhang of the value of 12'' on each side of the beams. In the case of larger
overhang, it needs to be re-calculated for possible additional uplift forces.
5.5 For the braced pile heads, 3/4'' Gr. 5 (A325) bolts should be torqued to 70% of its ternsile strength to form a slip-critical
connection, otherwise, the design is invalid and connection is unstable.
5.6 The galvanised faying surfaces that are part of the pretension connections, including the underneath part of the home's H-
