SPECIAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION MEETING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 3, 1988
An informal, Special Economic Development Commission meeting was held at
Brackett's Crossing. The meeting began at 4:30 p.m.
Members present: Meladandri, Erickson, Berg, Macklin, Halbach.
Also present: Daryl Morey, Assistant Community Development Director.
The Commission members discussed various aspects of the Business
Retention Program, including: requirements of the Business Retention
Program, mailing the Business Retention Program questionnaire to local
business and scheduling follow-up meetings with business representa-
tives.
The Commission members agreed that the questionnaires would be mailed
the week of November 1 and that follow-up meetings would be held at
Brackett's Crossing from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. nn Thursday, November 17
and at the Lakeville Inn from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. nn Tuesday,
November 22. This would allow for the questionnaires and related
material to be sent to the State offices by the November 30 deadline.
The Commission members felt that the City and Chamber of Commerce should
pay for/provide the clerical work necessary to administer the Business
• Retention Program questionnaire and the Commission members should pay
for the coffee and rolls/refreshments and hnrs'd'oeurves associated with
the follow-up meetings. The Commission members asked if there was money
budgeted for use by the Commission. Some felt that there was $25,000
available.
Commission members agreed to hold the next regular scheduled meeting nn
November 29.
The meeting ended at 5:45 p.m.
