RESOLUTION NO. 21-171
Resolution of Support to Submit a Funding Application for
2021 Safe Routes to School Infrastructure Program Solicitation
210th Street Reconstruction Project
WHEREAS, in 2021, the Minnesota Legislature appropriated bond funds to the Safe Routes to School
Infrastructure Program; and
WHEREAS, approximately $7.5M is available for a statewide solicitation to fund projects that improve
safe travel to schools; and
WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is requesting submittals for Safe Routes to
School Infrastructure Program funding for projects scheduled for construction in 2022-2023; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville may request up to a maximum amount of $500,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the 210th Street Reconstruction Project (City Project 22-03) is included in the adopted
City of Lakeville five-year (2022-2026) Capital Improvement Plan with construction scheduled for
2022.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Lakeville hereby
approves the 210th Street Reconstruction Project (City Project 22-03) for submittal to the Minnesota
Department of Transportation for Safe Routes to School Infrastructure Program funding; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if the 210th Street Reconstruction Project (City Project 22-03) is
awarded Safe Routes to School Infrastructure Program funds, the City Council of the City of Lakeville
will consider approving execution of the related grant approved at a future City Council meeting.
ADOPTED by the Lakeville City Council this 6th day of December 2021.
