Mr. Prawdzik did not commence construction of the detached accessory building within one year of the date of approval as required by the conditional use permit due to increased costs of construction materials at that time. As allowed by the Zoning Ordinance, the Zoning Administrator authorized a one year extension of the conditional use permit until October 19, 2022. Mr. Prawdzik did not commence construction in 2022 due to unforeseen personal circumstances and is now requesting a second extension until October 19, 2023. The City Council must review the request and authorize the extension following Planning Commission review and recommendation. Planning Department staff recommends approval of a one year extension to the Prawdzik conditional use permit until October 19, 2023. I'm writing to you on behalf of my husband, Dennis Prawdzik, and the upcoming expiration of our conditional use permit. First we'd like to thank you for reaching out and apologize for the delayed response. Unfortunately, it does not look good for us to begin construction this year. We have had extensive family obligations with both our parents, and just completed moving his parents into assisted living, clearing out their home of 56 years and getting that sold for them. We are interested in requesting another extension. We have a conflict with the 9/22 Planning Commission meeting, but would like to attend the 10/6 meeting, and also a City Council meeting by 10/17, per your email. Please advise on how to proceed. Thank you for all your assistance with this. It is greatly appreciated!
