3. Presentation by Guest Speaker, Rob Dockry, Manager, Airlake Airport
Ms. Goodroad welcomed guest speaker Rob Dockry, Airlake Airport Manager. Mr. Dockry
told the EDC that operations were up 5.54% in 2022 and nine of the 21 new hangar lots have
been constructed. Airlake Aiports is a Metropolitan Aiports Commission (MAC) reliever
airport and the MAC has future plans of expanding hangar capacity and extending the runway.
An environmental review is currently underway, as one is required before the MAC can move
forward with the runway extension. Airlake Airport has had some non-aeronautical activity on
a portion of its property to the west with the leasing of land to Boise Cascade and Dick’s
Sanitation for outdoor storage. The MAC also owns land to the east along Cedar Avenue that
it is marketing for additional non-aeronautical development. Mr. Dockry informed the group
that Airlake Airport is primarily used for leisure travel, with a small percentage using it for
business travel.
