DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 7 OF THE
LAKEVILLE CITY CODE CONCERNING
WATER SRVICE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Title 7 of the Lakeville City Code is amended by adding Section 7-5-6-6
to provide as follows:
Sec. 7-5-6-6. Discontinuance of water service to protect property.
The Operations and Maintenance Director is authorized to shut off water service at any stop box
connection at any time to protect the public water supply and private property based upon the
finding that the property may not be not sufficiently heated and that there is a danger that the
water pipes may freeze based upon one or more of the following:
(1) The property is not occupied or is vacant;
(2) Other utilities to the property providing gas or electricity have been shut-off;
(3) The property is not secured.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and
publication.
ADOPTED this 1St day of December 2008, by the City Council of the City of Lakeville,
Minnesota.
