The brain of the semiconductor-based microinverter is our proprietary application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) which enables the microinverter to operate in grid-tied or off-grid modes. This chip is built in advanced 55nm technology with high speed digital logic and has superfast response times to changing loads and grid events, alleviating constraints on battery sizing for home energy systems. Easy to install • Lightweight and compact with plug-n- play connectors • Power Line Communication (PLC) between components • Faster installation with simple two-wire cabling High productivity and reliability • Produce power even when the grid is down* • More than one million cumulative hours of testing • Class II double-insulated enclosure • Optimized for the latest high-powered PV modules Microgrid-forming • Complies with the latest advanced grid support** • Remote automatic updates for the latest grid requirements • Configurable to support a wide range of grid profiles • Meets CA Rule 21 (UL 1741-SA) and IEEE 1547:2018 (UL 1741-SB 3rd Ed.) Note: IQ8 Microinverters cannot be mixed together with previous generations of Enphase microinverters (IQ7 Series, IQ6 Series, etc) in the same system. © 2022 Enphase Energy. All rights reserved. Design Responsibility: These tables are intended to be used under the responsible charge of a registered design professional where required by the authority having jurisdiction. In all cases, these tables should be used under the direction of a design professional with sufficient structural engineering knowledge and experience to be able to: • Evaluate whether these tables apply to the project, and • Understand and determine the appropriate values for all input parameters of these tables. This letter certifies that the K2 Systems Dual Rail System, when installed according to the limitations of this letter and the attached span tables, complies with the above codes and loading criteria. This certification excludes evaluation of the building structure to support the loads imposed on the building by the array; including, but not limited to strength and deflection of structural framing members, fastening and/or strength of roofing materials, and/or the effects of snow accumulation on the roof. Structures will require additional knowledge of the building and are outside the scope of the certification of this racking system. If you have any questions on the above, do not hesitate to call. Abdi Botan Planet Solarity Signature: ___________________________ 941 Hillwind Rd NE Typed or Printed Name: Nathan E Prieve Fridley, MN 55432 Date: 9-6-24 License Number: 46203 Subject: Evaluation of condition of roof of home at 16158 Gannon Avenue West, Rosemount, MN 55068 as relates to structural support of proposed solar array on roof Abdi, Per your request, our office reviewed documentation as relates to evaluation of the existing roof structure at the subject property for structurally capacity to support a proposed solar array on the front roof field of the home. Documents provided to our office include Planet Solarity Array Plans [6 sheets] along with supporting component and engineering criteria for panels and anchors in addition to photographs taken in the attic of the existing home. We understand the existing home to be a single story, wood frame residence constructed in 1968. Photographs provided to our office show metal plate connected wood trusses set at two foot spacing with a combination of plywood and OSB sheathing on the roof. This evaluation and report have been prepared within customary and usual standards and budgetary constraints based on information provided to our office. Prieve Engineering LLC is not the Engineer of Record for the subject structure. All other aspects of the subject structure and property are excluded from this evaluation and report. This report is to be utilized only by the contracted party and is the copyright of Prieve Engineering LLC. This report is only applicable to the subject property and is not to be duplicated or used for any other properties or by any other parties. The plans provide to our office include proposed installation of 16 Philadelphia Phenex Solar modules along the lower and center portions of the front south facing roof field of the home. Modules are to be supported by Everest Crossrail 44-X racking system with anchorages spaced 2 to 6 feet apart into top chords of roof trusses. Fasteners at anchorage points are 5/16” stainless steel lag screws with a minimum embedment of 2.5 inches into framing members. Plans for the solar modules and support framing result in load calculations at bearing points of approximately 21.8 pounds with an overall uniform load in the area of the array on the roof of 2.6 pounds per square foot. Standard metal plate connected wood trusses include design for design slow load along with standard dead loads of 10 pounds per square foot for top chords and 5 pounds per square foot for bottom chords. Initial design snow loads in the State of Minnesota were not imposed until 1972 at which time a standard 40 pound per square foot snow load was established. While the design snow load for subject trusses is unknown with a construction date of 1968, File Number: 240906 PRIEVE ENGINEERING LLC Page of 2 2 likely design ranged from 30 to 40 pounds per square foot as compared to the current roof snow load design in this area of 35 pounds per square foot. Actual roof components present on the structure include 1/2 inch plywood and OSB [estimated 1.5 pounds per square foot] and fiberglass composition roof shingles [estimated 2.5 pounds per square foot]. With the additional design load of 2.6 pounds per square foot for the proposed solar array, the total dead load on the top chords of roof trusses is 6.6 pounds per square foot. Withdrawal values for a 5/16 inch diameter lag screw into standard truss grade lumber is estimated to be approximately 480 lb. CONCLUSIONS: After reviewing available data and documents, and based upon the training and expertise of the investigator, we have formed the following conclusions and recommendations to a reasonable degree of engineering certainty. •It is our opinion that the existing roof structure including metal plate connected wood trusses is structurally sound and capable of supporting the proposed solar array as per Planet Solarity drawings. The additional design dead load for the proposed solar array results in a total dead load of 6.6 pounds per square foot, well below standard top chord design values for manufactured trusses of 10 pounds per square foot. The point loads at mounts of 21.8 pounds in our opinion does not result in any overloading of top chord members. The proposed fasteners including 5/16 inch diameter lag screws with minimum 2.5 inches embedment into framing in our opinion are capable of withstanding design uplift loading due to wind load on the modules. No modifications and/or additional framing are required at the subject structure as relates to the proposed solar array and anchorages.
