Mohamed called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Members Present: Youth Advisory Commission Members: Iftinta Mohamed, Katie Sheehan, Eston Moulder, Faadumo Mohamed, Peyton Knock Swanson, Olivia Schmidt, Zavieanna Johnson, Ava Nielson Members Absent: Faisal Ali, Aaimah Khawaja, Ella Fowler, Caitlyn Holl Staff Present: Courtney Miller, Assistant to the City Administrator 3. Approval of Agenda Motion by Moulder, second by Sheehan, to approve the agenda. Motion passed unanimously. 4. Approval of Minutes Motion by Johnson, second by Sheehan, to approve the agenda. Motion passed unanimously. 5. An Afternoon with Friends Event Recap Commissioners discussed An Afternoon with Friends event and strategies to make the event more successful in the future. The group was happy with the Instagram takeover. 6. Recognition of Seniors Ms. Miller presented the graduating seniors with a plaque of recognition and appreciation for their service to the City. Each graduating member shared something they learned while being on the commission, as well as their future plans. 7. Summer Schedule The Commissioners discussed the summer meeting schedule and agreed to continue with the same format as last year- the June meeting will be cancelled, and the Youth Advisory Commission will meet via Teams in July and August. In person meetings will resume in September. 8. Old Business None. 9. Roundtable Discussion Members of the Youth Advisory Commission shared updates and activities they are participating in. 10. Announcements/Other Ms. Miller reminded the group that they are all invited to the upcoming annual Advisory Board Appreciation Dinner on May 29 at Antlers Park. 11. Next Meeting Date: July 21, 2024 The next meeting will be on July 21, 2024, via Teams. 12.
