5. Staff Presentation
a. Lakeville Elections — Ann Orlofsky
Ann Orlofsky, Lakeville City Clerk, presented the election process in Lakeville to the
Commission. The presentation touched on election judges, the voting equipment, the
duties of the Clerk, student judges, and the results from the November Presidential
election.
6. Roundtable Discussion
a. Vote on Project
The commission decided that utilizing a stronger communication effort, Snider will
submit another survey that members must respond to by 12/20. He will then
communicate with the group about the selected project and give recommendations for
the next steps. Members also discussed changing the presentation's targeted age group
from only elementary to elementary and middle school students.
b. Project Planning
Once a project is selected on December 20, the group will take the next steps in the
planning phase. The group will find information on community events, find ways to
engage audiences, and create a small presentation for the meeting in February. This
presentation will be given to the Lakeville Superintendent who will hopefully receive
valuable feedback as they move forward. First Chair Mohamed will create and distribute
the presentation.

c. Volunteering Opportunities
The members discussed various volunteer opportunities. There are two opportunities through
the City of Lakeville that members may be interested in individually signing up for. The
group also wants to find a date in January that works for everyone to attend Feed My
Starving Children and serve there. Members were asked to share their January calendars with
Snider.
7. Announcements/Other
a. February Meeting
Snider announced to the group that the Lakeville Interim Superintendent would attend
the meeting in February. Because of this, he encouraged the members to make their
project selection as soon as possible. This way, the commission will be able to get
feedback from the school district about their project.
b. Future Communications
Snider asked the commission what ways would be best for communicating with the
group. Members find that e-mail may not be the best for everyone. They decided that
Snider would reach out to the Chair and the Chair would share that information with the
group or remind the other members to check their e-mail. Snider will also look into
GroupMe as a communication option.

Respectfully submitted,
