Call to Order Chair, Iftinta Mohamed, called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. 2. Roll Call Page 1 Members Present: Youth Advisory Commission Members: Faadumo Mohamed, Olivia Schmidt, Katie Sheehan, Addison Johnson Members Absent: Tiann Bocheck, Zavienna Johnson, Faisal Ali, Imran Ali, Iftinta Mohamed Staff Present: Taylor Snider, Assistant to the City Administrator, Joshua Lee, City Councilmember 3. Approval of Agenda Mohamed made the motion to approve the agenda. Schmidt seconded that motion. Members unanimously approved the agenda. 4. Consent Agenda Schmidt made the motion to approve the agenda. Mohamed seconded that motion. Members approved the Consent Agenda, which consisted of the minutes from March 16, 2025. 5. Staff Presentation a. Councilmember Joshua Lee Councilmember Lee gave a presentation about himself, his role on the city council, and other insights about what impact the city council has on everyday life in the City of Lakeville. He also presented to the members regarding the International Day of Living Together in Peace event and the ways they can be involved. 6. Roundtable Discussion a. International Day of Living Together in Peace Event The group decided that they would volunteer at the event. b. Project Planning The group decided that they would reimagine the original idea and look at making it into a smaller YouTube video to be shared. c. Volunteering Opportunities The group would like to continue to meet during the Summer months. Possibly a weekday Zoom. 7. Announcements/Other Snider proposed the idea of having a mid -month zoom check -in. The group agreed and Youth Advisory Commission Minutes, April 27, 2025 they will have their first mid -month Zoom on May 11, 2025. 8.
