YOUTH ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES
January 11, 2026
6:30 p.m.
1. Call to Order
Chair, Mohamed, called the meeting to order at 6:40 p.m.
2. Roll Call

Members Present: Youth Advisory Commission Members: Olivia Schmidt, Katie Sheehan,
Savannah Smalley, Faadumo Mohamed, Zavieanna Johnson, Faisal Ali
Staff Present: Taylor Snider, Assistant to the City Administrator
3. Approval of Agenda
Z. Johnson made the motion to approve the agenda. Smalley seconded that motion.
Members unanimously approved the agenda.
4. Consent Agenda
Sheehan made the motion to approve the agenda. F. Ali seconded that motion.
Members approved the Consent Agenda, which consisted of the minutes from December 14,
2025.
5. Roundtable Discussion
a. Commissioner updates
Commissioners went around the room and discussed highlights from the last month.
b. Volunteer Opportunities
Snider informed the group of a Super Bagging event taking place in February.
6. Fire Department Tour — Chief Meyer
Chief Meyer gave the commissioners some background on the Fire Department and then gave
them a tour of fire station one with the help from some of the firefighters on staff. The
commissioners were intrigued and impressed with the equipment and operations.
