HomeMy WebLinkAbout26-077 Resolution Authorizing the Purchase of Information Screens for the Police Department Real Time Information CenterCITY OF LAKEVILLE DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA RESOLUTION NO.26-077 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF INFORMATION SCREENS FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT REAL TIME INFORMATION CENTER (RTIC) WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville Police Department has identified a need to enhance the capabilities of the Real Time Information Center (RTIC) located at 9237 183rd Street, Lakeville, Minnesota 55044; and WHEREAS, the Police Department proposes to acquire two (2) Philips Unite AIO LED displays (110 inches each), along with associated audio-visual components, cabling, control systems, and installation services, to create an integrated video wall system in the RTIC; and WHEREAS, the total cost for the purchase and installation of this equipment, as proposed by AVSi AV+ Technologies under Project No. AVSI-1353, is $51,572.11, which includes all equipment and accessories; and WHEREAS, this purchase was not individually identified in the approved 2026 Capital Improvement Budget; however, it can be accommodated within the Police Department's existing 2026 capital budget through the reprioritization of funds, specifically by delaying the replacement of two (2) vehicles and related equipment, and by adjusting the portable radio replacement schedule to late 2027 and early 2028; and WHEREAS, the City's Purchasing Policy requires City Council authorization for purchases exceeding $20,000; and WHEREAS, delivery of the displays is expected within 8 to 12 weeks of order, with installation and project completion anticipated by October 2026; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this acquisition is in the best interests of the City of Lakeville and supports the Envision Lakeville Community Value of Safety Throughout the Community; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville, Minnesota, as follows: 1.. The City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of two (2) Philips Unite AIO LED displays and all associated audio-visual components, control systems, cabling, and installation services for the Police Department Real Time Information Center (RTIC), as set forth in the AVSi AV+ Technologies proposal (Project No. AVSI- 1353), in an amount not to exceed $51,572.11. 2.. The purchase shall be funded through the reprioritization of existing 2026 capital budget funds within the Police Department, including the deferral of planned vehicle replacements and a revised portable radio replacement schedule. 3.. The City Administrator and City Staff are authorized to take all actions necessary to carry out the purposes of this Resolution, including executing any required purchase agreements or contracts consistent with the City's Purchasing Policy.
