.RESOLUTION AMENDING THE
LAKEVILLE EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK
MODIFYING THE EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION POLICY
WHEREAS, the City Council, on September 5, 1995, approved Resolution 95-
178 adopting the Employee Recognition policy; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Lakeville: The Employee Recognition policy in the Lakeville Employee Handbook dated
September 5, 1995 is hereby rescinded and replaced with "Employee Recognition" dated
June 7, .1999.
. APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville,
Minnesota this 7th day of June, 1999.

EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION
POLICY
1. The purpose of the employee recognition program is to acknowledge employees
who have contributed years of service to the City of Lakeville and its citizens and
recognize them with a token of appreciation for their dedication and commitment.
2. Employee service recognition shall be based on an individual's length of service
with the City of Lakeville. Length of service shall be based on consecutive years of
service as an employee in a permanent full-time or permanent part-time position.
3. Employee service recognition awards, provided by the City, will be given
employees at five-year increments as follows:
a) Five years of service: Certificate of Achievement and City of Lakeville
b) Ten, 15, and 20 years: Certificate of Achievement and selection of an item
• from a gift choice list. The dollar value of the gifts increases with years of
service.
c) Twenty-five years: Certificate of Achievement and selection of a gold
watch, wall clock or mantle clock with City of Lakeville inscription.
d) Thirty years: Certificate of Achievement and presentation of a selected
gift, or gift certificate, subject to the approval of the City Administrator.
4. The awards for years of service will be presented by the Mayor or designee, with
assistance from the recipient's supervisor at an annual employee recognition event
held during normal business hours.
