RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING
PLACEMENT OF STOP SIGNS
ON GRIFFON TRAIL AT THE
INTERSECTION OF HARWELL AVENUE
WHEREAS, pursuant to state statute, it is necessary for city council to authorize all stop sign
placements on public right-of--way, and
WHEREAS, the attached Exhibit A is a petition received from residents requesting a traffic
study for all-way stop controls at the intersection of Harwell Avenue and Griffon Trail, and
WHEREAS, the petition as required in the city's All-Way Stop Control Policy initiates a traffic
study by use of the All-Way Stop Control Justification process, and
WHEREAS, attached Exhibit B which is a completed All-Way Stop Control Justification
Worksheet, which exceeds minimum point threshold for the establishment of all-way stop
controls, and
WHEREAS, placement of stop signs on Griffon Trail at the intersection of Harwell Avenue
would create an all-way stop control intersection.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that stop signs are authorized for placement on
Griffon Trail at Harwell Avenue creating an all-way stop intersection.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this nth day of December, 1998, by the City Council of the
City of Lakeville.

and residing on the subject streets, petition the City of Lakeville to undertake a review of conditions at
this intersection in consideration of installation of Residential Street All-way Stop Control. This Petition
is submitted #o the City in response to concern for safety and well being in the neighborhood.

This Residential Street Alf-Way Stop Control Justification Worksheet is applicable only to intersections of residential sheets with speed limits
of 30 miles per hour. This proceedure is 'not' to be applied to the intersection of a local residentfat street with a major collector or arterial
street as identified in the Cites Transportation Plan.
