HomeMy WebLinkAbout98-151 CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION DATE: July zo, i99s RESOLUTION NO.: 9a~isL MOTION BY: _ HolberQ SECONDED BY: sindt RESOLUTION APPOINTING THE ADVISORY BOARD FOR SPECIAL SERVICE DISTRICT N0.1 WHEREAS the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 631 on July 6, 1998, Authorizing Creation of Special Service District No. 1 for certain property located adjacent to Holyoke, Holt, and Howland Avenues from 202nd Street West on the north to 210th Street West on the south; and WHEREAS Section 8 of the Ordinance calls for the creation of an Advisory Board consisting of members appointed by the City Council who are residents of the District or owners (or their representatives) of property within the District; and WHEREAS the Downtown Lakeville Business Association has submitted a list of 10 nominees to serve on the Advisory Board at the request of the City Council; and WHEREAS, the Advisory Board's role shall be to advise the City Council in connection with the .furnishing of special services and the construction, maintenance and operation of improvements in the District; to make recommendations to the City Council on requests and complaints of owners, occupants, and users of property within the District and members of the public; and to review and comment upon any proposal to provide services or impose taxes of service charges within the District prior to the adoption of any such proposals by the City Council NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following individuals shall serve on the Advisory Board for Special Service District No. 1: * Dick Sherman, representing Lakeville Publishing, Inc. ~ Nancy Smith, representing Gregory J. Smith, D.D.S. ~ Jody Braun, representing Enggren's SuperValu * Mark Hotzler, representing Holyoke Professional LLC * Dr. Steve Petersen, representing Petersen Dental Clinic * Bud Allstot, representing Lakeville Auto Service * Don Speiker, representing Lakeville Family Bowl ~ Rod Borg, representing Millennium Marketing * Jenna Tuma, representing A+ Driving School, and * Greg Peterka, representing Marquette Bank -Lakeville; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Advisory Board membership shall remain in effect until expiration of Special Services District No. 1. The City Council reserves the right at its discretion to remove members of the advisory board, with or without cause, or to disband and terminate the advisory board before the expiration of the District per Section 8, Ordinance No. 631. • ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LAKEVILLE THE 20TH DAY OF JULY, 1998.
