HomeMy WebLinkAbout98-058 CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION DATE April 6, 1998 RESOLUTION NO. 98-58 MOTION BY sindt SECONDED iBY Mulvihill RESOLUTION REQUESTING CONSIDERATION OF A COUNTY ROADSIDE DIRECTIONAL SIGNAGE PROGRAM WHEREAS, Dakota County and its cities have an interest in the safe and efficient movement of traffic within and through the County; and WHEREAS, an increasing number of Dakota County businesses derive a significant portion of their customer bases from visitors coming from outside the community; and WHEREAS, the standards for access to County roads is such that many businesses access the local road system by a city street; and WHEREAS, the State of Minnesota has implemented a directional signage program to inform motorists of visitor facilities located near major state highways; and WHEREAS, this system provides visitors with directions from the State highway system onto the County highway system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the. City of Lakeville formally endorses the concept of directional signage for visitor oriented facilities and requests that the County Board direct its staff to work with the cities to develop a visitor information signage program for County roads.
