HomeMy WebLinkAbout97-278 S CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION Date December 15. 1997 Resolution No. 97-278 Motion by Johnson Seconded by Mulvihill RESOL UTION ESTABLISHING RENTAL POLICIES AND FEES FOR USE OFLAKEVILLE SENIOR CITIZEN CENTER WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville has a need to establish a rental policy and fee schedule for the use of the Lakeville Senior Center; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that the following policy of the City as set forth below shall be adopted: The City of Lakeville's Senior Citizen Center is reserved primarily for Senior Citizen • activities planned by the Senior Coordinator. The facility is available for use only when it will not conflict with Lakeville Senior Citizen activities. The Senior Center is not recommended for group rental for activities and meetings primarily consisting of youth. "Regular facility hours" are designated as 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding municipal holidays. Non-regular facility hours shall be considered "after hours." The Senior Center will not be available for reservations for regularly scheduled weekly or monthly meetings, with the exception of those groups who, as of the date of this resolution, currently meet at the Senior Center. GROUP GUIDELINES: GROUPA: ? City of Lakeville sponsored activities and meetings. (Examples: Advisory Committee meetings, Lakeville Parks and Recreation Santa Store No charge ? Groups consisting exclusively of seniors meeting during regular facility hours: (Examples: Eureka Sunshine Society) No charge ? Lakeville Senior Center members' birthday or anniversary parties during regular facility hours. No charge ? Fare Share commodity distribution. Examples: Sons of Norway, Lakeville Garden Club, churches 10.00/hour ? Lakeville Senior Citizen Club members' birthday or anniversary parties after hours. 10.00/hour Maximum group size which will be considered for rental is 100. The Parks and Recreation Director reserves the right to reject requests for facility use when such use is considered not to be in the best interest of local government. APPLICATION AND FEE GUIDELINES: Application for usage must be submitted to Lakeville Parks and Recreation Department a minimum of two weeks prior to the requested event date. Groups required to pay rental fees must submit the applicable fee and $100.00 security deposit a minimum of two weeks prior to the requested event date. The $100.00 security deposit will be retained until after the scheduled date and is subject to be returned based on the condition of the facility following the event. If the event is canceled a minimum of three business .days before the scheduled event, the rental fee and security deposit, less a $10.00 cancellation fee, will be returned to the event sponsor. For cancellations made one to two business days prior to the scheduled event, 50% of • rental fee and full security deposit will be returned to the event sponsor. No rental fee refund will be given if cancellation is made the date of the scheduled event. A building key must be obtained from the Lakeville Parks and Recreation Department at City Hall during regular business hours and returned within three working days of the scheduled event. A $10.00 key deposit will be required. Rental groups are restricted to the main activity room and kitchen and are prohibited from using the pool room, library, craft room and office area. Following reserved use, group must make sure all areas which have been used are cleaned, tables returned to their original position, and lights turned off. ADOPTED this 15th day of December , 199 7 .
