HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-100 RESOLUTION DATE June 3, 1996 RESOLUTION NO. 96-100 MOTION BY Holberg SECONDED BY Johnson RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DONATION WHEREAS, The City of Lakeville accepts donations from private organizations to assist in disaster mitigation efforts; and WHEREAS, a community in the City of Lakeville suffered extensive storm damage on the early morning of May 19, 1996 and had City crews including Police, Fire, Public Works, Police Reserves, volunteers and storm damage victims working at the scene from the time of the damage well into the evening; and WHEREAS, the Baylee Express Coffee Bar, Lakeville McDonalds, Apple Valley McDonalds, Cubs Foods, Valley Christian Church, Ole Piper Inn, Farmington's Dominos Pizza, and SuperAmerica, came forth unsolicited providing foods, beverages and supplies for the crews working to clean up and provide security to the disaster scene; and WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute 465.03 requires that all gifts and donations of real or personal property be accepted only with the adoption of a resolution of the governing body. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that the donation of foods, beverages and supplies from the above named organizations is hereby accepted; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Lakeville sincerely thanks these organizations for their generous donations and this outstanding example ofcivic-mindedness.
