Motion by: Johnson Seconded by: ~c~ t,P,-g RESOLUTION MODIFYING THE EMPLOYEE HANDBOOK FOR SCHOOL CONFERENCE AND ACTIVITIES LEAVE. Now, therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Lakeville that effective immediately, the policy on page 68 of the Employee Handbook, "School Conference and Activities Leave" dated January 20, 1994 is hereby rescinded and replaced with "School Conference and Activities Leave" dated December 16, 1996. Adopted by the City Council of the City of Lakeville this 16th day of December, 1996. An employee will be granted up to a total of 16 hours during any school year to attend school conferences or school-related activates related to the employee's child, subject to the following requirements: '''''P,el~3p~e~ee-111=13t~i#Y~eveeri-ei~le~e'a--fSi-ft-fl~r~arnvrt~=e~Vc-~r~)-mvi=t~.r. a) The employee must work an average of twenty or more hours per week. b) The conference or classroom activities cannot be scheduled during non-work hours. 2. For the purpose of such leave, a "child" means an individual under 18 years of age or an individual under age 20 who is still attending secondary school. When such leave cannot be scheduled during non-work hours and the need for the leave is foreseeable, the employee must provide reasonable prior notice of such leave to the City and make a reasonable effort to schedule the leave so as to not disrupt unduly the operations of the City. Such leave maybe either unpaid or an employee may substitute any accrued paid vacation leave or other appropriate paid leave for any part of such leave. 68 1/10/91 41/20/94 r12/16/96
