HomeMy WebLinkAbout96-141 CITY OF LAKEVILLE • DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA DATE: September 3, 1996 RESOLUTION NO: 96-141 MOTION BY: Mulvihill SECONDED BY: Sindt RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMITTEE TO DEVELOP A STOP SIGN PLACEMENT POLICY WHEREAS, the establishment of a stop sign placement policy is deemed necessary to: 1) Expedite citizens' requests for the placement of stop signs 2) Develop a policy that is consistent for stop sign placement and with the City's Transportation Plan 3) Establish a stop sign placement policy which will develop standards following the Manual Uniform Traffic Control Devices and State Statutes for the safest implementation of stop signs, and WHEREAS, this committee will meet a minimum of once per month until a stop sign policy has been approved by City Council, and • WHEREAS, the make-up of the committee will be as follows Director of Operations & Maintenance -Don Volk Lakeville Police Lt. Richard Schwartz Lakeville Assistant City Engineer -Tim Hanson City Council Member -Mary Liz Holberg, Public Safety Committee Representative City Residents Steve Pecho, Greg Doyle, Ron Nystuen, Robin Brown, and WHEREAS, this committee may be asked to meet after the establishment of a stop sign policy to review modifications to this policy and/or future requests for stop sign placement issues. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of Lakeville authorizes establishment of a Stop Sign Placement Policy Committee for the City of Lakeville APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of September, 1996, by the City Council of the City of Lakeville.
