RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLE VALLEY' S
MAJOR COMPREHENSIVE SANITARY SEWER PLAN AMENDMENT
FOR THE CENTRAL TRUNK INTERCEPTOR
CITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT 94-17
WHEREAS, the City of Apple Valley has submitted a Major Comprehensive Sanitary
Sewer Plan Amendment to Metropolitan Council for the construction of central trunk sanitary
sewer through Lakeville; and
• WHEREAS, on 3une 6, 1994, the Mayors of Apple Valley and Lakeville approved a
Letter of Understanding between the cities which approved the construction of the sanitary sewer
through Lakeville; and
WHEREAS, the central trunk interceptor sewer will benefit the City of Lakeville by
providing gravity sanitary sewer service to existing development enabling the City to eliminate an
existing lift station. The areas served by the existing lift station are subdistricts 20280, 20285, and
20290 as identified on the attached drawing; and
WHEREAS, the central trunk interceptor sewer will provide future sanitary sewer service
to subdistrict F20015 which is currently outside of the Year 2000 Metropolitan Urban Service
Area; and
WHEREAS, the City recognizes that the construction of the proposed central trunk
interceptor will not provide any additional allocation of service capacity until such time as the area
in Subdistrict F20015 is approved by the Metropolitan Council to be brought into the
Metropolitan Urban Service Area; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into a contract with Apple Valley and/or the
Metropolitan Council regarding financing, ownership, cost sharing, and connections to the.......
proposed central trunk interceptor sewer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Lakeville City Council approves the
City of Apple Valley's Major Comprehensive Sanitary Sewer Plan Amendment for the
construction of the central trunk interceptor sewer through Lakeville.
