RESOLUTION APPROVING THE RECONVEYANCE OF A
PORTION OF TAX-FORFEITED LANDS TO THE STATE OF
MINNESOTA BY GOVERNMENT SUBDIVISION AND
REQUESTING THE STATE OF MINNESOTA TO CONVEY LEGAL
OWNERSHIP TO THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE
WHEREAS, Lot 1, Block 8, Lyndale Lakes Club 2nd Addition was conveyed as
forfeited lands to the City of Lakeville on September 28, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the easterly portion of Lot 1 is considered of value to the City of
Lakeville for street right-of--way purposes; and
• WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville intends to retain the easterly portion of Lot 1,
Block 8, Lyndale Lakes Club 2nd Addition for its designated purposes; and
WHEREAS, the property owners of Lot 29, Block 8, Lyndale Lakes Club 2nd
Addition, Joseph R. and Jeanne S. Layeux, have expressed an interest in acquiring the
westerly one half of Lot 1, Block 8, Lyndale Lakes Club 2nd Addition; and
WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville and Joseph and Jeanne Layeux have approved a
Purchase Agreement for the westerly portion of Lot 1, Block 8, Lyndale Lakes Club 2nd
Addition, subject to the reconveyance by the State of Minnesota and Dakota County; and
WHEREAS, the said sale of property to Joseph and Jeanne Layeux and
subsequent improvement to the property will result in increased taxable property values.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Lakeville, Minnesota, hereby approves the "Reconveyance of a Portion of Forfeited Lands
to the State of Minnesota by Government Subdivisions" a copy of wluch is attached
hereto; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said parcel which is legally described as the
• westerly one half of Lot 1, Block 8, Lyndale Lakes Club 2nd Addition is hereby
. designated to be sold to Joseph R. Layeux and Jeanne S. Layeux with the Purchase
Agreement dated November 20, 1995; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council does hereby request the
State of Minnesota to convey legal ownership to the City of Lakeville of the said parcel as
previously described upon payment of the basic sale price of $2,500 as determined by
Dakota County.
AFPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville,
Minnesota, this 20th day of November, 1995.
