HomeMy WebLinkAbout95-220 CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION DATE: October 16, 1995 RESOLUTION NO• 95-220 MOTION BY: Johnson SECONDED BY: Mulvihill RESOLUTION SETTING SPEED LIMIT ON 165TH STREET BETWEEN IPAVA AVENUE AND HYLAND AVENUE IN THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE, MN WHEREAS, on October 16, 1995, the Lakeville City Council received a petition from residents in the Hypointe Crossing development requesting that 165th Street east of Ipava Avenue be posted fora 30 mile per hour speed limit; and WHEREAS, 165th Street is designated as a major collector roadway in the City's Comprehensive Transportation Plan; and WHEREAS, 165th Street is a Municipal State Aid roadway designed fora 40 mile per hour speed limit; and • WHEREAS, 165th Street is only partially constructed between Ipava Avenue and Hyland Avenue and currently functions only as a residential street; and WHEREAS, in the future, 165th Street will be extended to Highview Avenue, and the function of 165th Street will change; and WHEREAS, when 165th Street is extended and connects to Highview Avenue, the City will request the Commissioner of Transportation to perform a speed study to determine the appropriate speed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lakeville City Council establishes a 30 mile per hour speed limit along 165th Street east of Ipava Avenue until such time that 165th Street is connected to Highview Avenue. At that time,. a request will be made to the Commissioner of Transportation to determine appropriate speed. DATED this 16th day of October, 1995. CITY OF KEVILLE By.
