HomeMy WebLinkAbout94-221 CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION Date October 17, 1994 Resolution No. 94-221 Motion By Harvey Seconded By Mulvihill RESOLUTION CREATING AN ENHANCED 911 FUND AND REQUESTING DIRECT DISTRIBUTION OF ITS SHARE OF FUNDING WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville installed E911 service in compliance with state law which requires that each city of the State of Minnesota implement 911 emergency telephone service; and WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville operates an enhanced 911 service as a Dakota County public safety answering point; and • WHEREAS; the City of Lakeville incurs substantial costs for operation and maintenance of an enhanced 911 service; and WHEREAS, the 1994 legislature adopted Chapter 616, Senate File 2540 which authorizes the collection and distribution of fees to cover the costs of implementing and maintaining enhanced 911 systems; and WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville expects to spend $241,369 during 1995 on communication systems including enhanced 911 services; and WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville provides dispatch services for the City of Farmington; and WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville maintains a checking account (001-003-0) at Marquette Bank, Lakeville, Minnesota. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lakeville does hereby create a special revenue fund entitled "Enhanced 911 Fund" which shall be maintained in accordance with Section 403.113 of Minnesota Statutes, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Lakeville requests direct • distribution of its share of funding and desires population credit for the residents of the City of Farmington as well as the residents of the City of Lakeville.
