HomeMy WebLinkAbout92-073 RESOLUTION N0. 92-73 RESOLUTION APPROVING LAKEVILLE'S PARTICIPATION IN THE PROPOSED BLACK DOG WATER MANAGEMENT IMPROVEMENT FOR THE CRYSTAL LAKE WATER QUALITY PROJECT WHEREAS, for several years the Black Dog Water Management Commission (WMO) has been studying Crystal Lake in order to maintain and improve the water quality, and WHEREAS, at a public hearing on January 8, 1992, the WMO approved an amendment to the Black Dog Water Management Plan which added a capital improvement project to improve and prevent future degradation of the water quality of Crystal Lake through a process called Hypolimnetic Withdrawal, and WHEREAS, the WMO has applied for and received federal grant funding (Environmental Protection Agency) in the amount of $100,000 to aid in the implementation of this project, and WHEREAS, the estimated project cost is approximately $250,000, of which the WMO proposes to supplement the grant funding from the existing WMO funds in the amount of $80, 000, and • WHEREAS, the Joint Powers Agreement (JPA) that established the WMO provides for a Capital Improvement process whereby each benef fitted member city of the WMO is asked to contribute toward the cost of a proposed Capital Improvement, and WHEREAS, Lakeville's participation is in the amount of $19,890 as estimated in the feasibility report prepared by the WMO. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lakeville, that it does hereby approve Lakeville's contribution in the estimated amount of $19,890.
