RESOLDTION AUTHORIZING REIHIDURSEMENT FOR USE OF
PERSONAL ADTO ON CITY BUSINESS AND ESTABLISHING THE
POLICY, REAUIR~NTS AND CONDITIONS FOR THE CLAIM
WAS, it is deemed to be beneficial to the City of Lakeville
that city personnel use their personal vehicles on city business; and
WHEREAS, the City Council believes it to be equitable and
reasonable to reimburse the employee for the use of their personal vehicle
while on city business.
NOW, THBHBFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the following policy,
conditions and requirements are established.
1. Claims shall be submitted to the Finance Director on a claim form
provided by the City and shall be itemized, showing the date,
destination, purpose of the trip and mileage, and be signed by
the person making the claim.
2. The mileage rate for reimbursement effective January 1, 1991,
shall be $.24 per mile.
3. The mileage rate for reimbursement effective January 1, 1992,
shall be $.275 per mile.
4. Employees using their personal vehicle, and claiming mileage
reimbursement, on city business shall assume liability through
his/her own vehicle insurance carrier for personal injury,
property damage, and comprehensive/collision damage to their
vehicle.

5. Mileage reimbursement shall be made upon City Council approval of
' the claim..
6. Any traffic violations incurred while on city business are the
responsibility of the employee to satisfy.
7. Use of the employee's private vehicle .for. city business must also
meet requirements of policies as set forth in the Employee
Handbook and requirements of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as
to the reporting of claims for mileage paid by the City.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Lakeville this 22nd day of January, 1991.
