HomeMy WebLinkAbout90-116 CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION DATE October 1, 1990 RESOLUTION NO. 90-116 MOTION BY Harvey SECONDED BY Ruhmann RESOLUTION PROCLAIMING RED RIBBON WEEK OCTOBER 22 - 28, 1990. WHEREAS, Red Ribbon is a symbol of commitment by Minnesota residents who care enough to help reduce and prevent alcohol and other drug abuse; and WHEREAS, Co-chairs for 1990 Red Ribbon Campaign Week are Senator Rudy Boschwitz and Governor Rudy Perpich. The effort is supported by Minnesota Attorney General Hubert Humphrey III, as well as the Minnesota Departments of Public Safety, Human Services, Education and Health; and WHEREAS, Red Ribbon Campaign Week is an excellent chance for the community, business and government to get together and show commitment to help bring an end to this serious problem. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Lakeville and the Lakeville Police Department support Red Ribbon Campaign Week, October 22 through October 28, 1990, and endorse the effort to reduce and prevent alcohol and other drug abuse. Our support includes a commitment to drug .prevention programs, including Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) and cooperation with the community and schools in educating young persons about the dangers of alcohol and drug abuse. Red Ribbon Campaign Week emphasizes total community involvement in alcohol and drug abuse prevention programs. DATED this 1st day of October, 1990.
