A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING RULES AND RENTAL FEES FOR
USE OF CITY PARKS AND PROPEIZIY
W'HE',RFAS, .the City has a need to establish a rules and rental fees schedule
for use of City parks,
.NOW Tf-]EREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council Of the City of Lakeville
that the following policy of the City as set forth below shall be adopted:
1. BROOMBALL
A. The fee for Lakeville Broomball League team tournament shall be
$45.00, or as determined by League Director.
B. The fee for a non-Lakeville Broomball team tournament shall be
$50.00, or as determined by League Director.
• C. The .above fee will permit the tournament sponsor to use both
rinks located at the McGuire Junior High School during daylight
hours only. An additional $5.00 per game will be assessed for
each game requiring the use of lights.
D. All tournaments will be governed by MRPA rules and regulations.
All tournaments will also adhere to Lakeville rules and
regulations governing park department facilities.
E. The tournament sponsored by the Lakeville Broomball Association
shall be exempt from the above fees.
2. SOFTBALL
A. The fee for a Lakeville Softball League team tournament shall be
$150.00 plus $15.00 per hour for lights.
B. The fee schedule for non-Lakeville League softball tournaments
shall be:
1 - 16 team tournament $250.00
17 - 24 team tournament 275.00
25 - 32 team tournament 300.00
33 - 40 team tournament 325.00
• 41 - 48 team tournament 350.00
C. All tournament sponsors will be required to submit a $100.00
• damage deposit and the designated park rental fee two weeks prior
to the scheduled event.
D. The following annual softball tournaments will be exempt from the
above fee:
1. The Lakeville Jaycee tournament
2. The Pan-O-Frog tournament
3. Park and Recreation Departmexit sponsored tournaments.
E. Each tournament and sponsor shall abide by the attached rules and
fees and a written agreement shall be executed between the
sponsor and the City, setting forth the fee and terms for the use
of the park. The attached rules and regulations are identified
as "E}~iIBIT A" .
3. PARK RENTALS
A. The fee to reserve space in certain parks shall be:
Resident - Private $ 25.00 per day
Nonresident - Private 50.00 per day
Resident - Corporate business 50.00 per day
Nonresident - Corporate business 75.00 per day: 1 - 50 people
125.00 per day: 51 -100 people
• 175.00 per day: 101 -200 people
225.00 per day: over 200 people
B. Reservations will be tentatively recorded in the reservation book
when called in. Clients have three days to pay their deposit and
their fees or their reservation will be cancelled.
C. A damage deposit of $100.00 will be required by all groups
reserving space in the parks, with the exception of nonprofit
youth service organizations. The deposit is due when makingthe.
reservation. The facility will be inspected immediately after
the event and provided there are no damages, the deposit will be
returned promptly.
D. Groups wishing to reserve space in certain parks shall abide by
the attached rules and regulations and a written agreement shall
be executed between the sponsor and the City setting forth the
terms for the use of the park. The attached rules and
regulations are identified as "Exhibit B".
E. Lakeville schools and Parkview Elementary, nonprofit civic.
organizations and City of Lakeville employee organizations are
fee exempt. These groups must, however, pay a damage deposit.
F. There will not be a parking attendant on duty. A park ranger
will meet with a group when they arrive, occasionally check on
• them while the group is there and will check them out before they
leave to inspect for damage. The reserving group is responsible
for cleaning the reserved area.

• G. The refund policy for cancelled reservations shall be:
Cancellation 30 days in advance - $10.00 cancellation fee
Cancellation 29-14 days in advance - 50% cancellation fee
Cancellation 13-0 days in advance - No refunds
H. Equipment Rental.
1. Volleyball set $ 7.00
2. Horseshoes - per set 5,00
3. Bocce 7.00
4. Badminton set 6.00
5. Softball set 6.00
6. Croquet set 6.00
7. Complete picnic kit-includes #1, #2 #3 & #5 15.00
A deposit of $25.00 will be required for. kits and a $15.00
deposit for all other pieces of equipment.
4. CAMPING
A camping fee for designated areas and parking lots is required along
with a special permit issued at the discretion of the Park Director.
A. Antlers Park:
• (8:00 PM to 9:00 AM) $ 10.00 per night
B. Aronson Park:
(6:00 PM to 9:00 AM) 10.00 per night
5. RENTAL OF MISCELLANEOUS PARK EQUIPMENT OR FACILSTIES
Various equipment and facilities may be rented out at the discretion
of the Parks and Recreation Director, who will set the appropriate
fee.

1, The Lakeville Park Maintenance Depari~nent will provide normal Friday field
maintenance. All field markings and additional maintenance will be the
responsibility of the sponsoring team.
2. The sponsoring team will be responsible for traffic and parking control.
Only vehicles used for maintenance will be allowed on turf areas. All other
vehicles will be restricted to parking areas.
3. The sponsoring team or onganization will be responsible for trash pick up at
the end of Satun~ay's and Sunday's games. Trash is to be placed in container
provided by the City's contracted trash collector. The sponsoring team or
organization will be responsible for placement of all full trash barrels
along the east side of the shelter building both Satun~ay and Sunday. The
sponsoring. team or organization will be responsible for placement of full
trash bags into dumpster at the end of each tournament day.
4. All park facilities such as picnic tables, playground equipment, fire grates
and bleachers shall remain in their present locations.. The moving of any
facilities will require additional permission.

CLEAN UP COCK LIST:
1. Kitchen (where applicable) should be left completely cleaned:
* Floors washed
* Cupboan-~s all cleaned
* Counters all washed
* Stove completely cleaned inside and out
* walls cleaned
* All trash cleaned up. The sponsoring organization will be responsible
for placement of full trash bags into dumpster at the end of the
rental period.
2. Bathroom area:
* Floors should be cleaned
* Sinks and urinals cleaned
* Trash all removed from bathroom into dumpster provided.
3. Check to see that all running water is shut off. All lights and electrical
appliances should be turned off.
4. All doors should be securely locked before leaving.
• Arrangements for entering the building can be made with the Park Department.

FdTLFS AND SONS FOR USE OF CITY PARKS
1. Rental groups will use only those areas designated for group picnics.
Facilities such as the beach, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts and
softball fields will be available unless already being used by the
general public.
2. Rental groups will be responsible for cleanup of trash and debris in
the area reserved for their activity.
3. Facilities such as picnic tables, benches and other park facilities.
will remain in their present locations. The moving of any facilities
will require permission.
4. A rental group will be responsible for controlling all member of said.
group. Any violations to City ordinances will result in immediate
cancellation of the rental group contract and the group will be removed
from City property.
5. All motor vehicles will be parked in designated parking areas unless
prior arrangements have been made.
• 6. Only groups consisting of 400 people or less will be considered for
rental of designated areas.
7. Intoxicating Liquor Prohibited: It is unlawful for any person to
constune intoxicating liquor within City. parks, exclusive of
nonintoxicating malt liquor (3.2 beer). HARD LIQUOR IS PROHIBITED.
8. NO GLASS containers of any type will be allowed on park property.
9. City of Lakeville park hours are 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
10. Fires are allowed only in designated areas. Fires must be completely
extinguished before leaving the area.
11. City of Lakeville ox~inance requires all dogs i.n the .City to be
leashed. This also pertains to park property. Pet owners are also
required to clean uP any droppings left by their animals.
