RESOLUTION AMENDING CITY POLICY ON PROVIDING
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO CHEMICAL PREVENTION PROGRAMS
IN THE PUBLIC SCHOUL DISTRICTS SERVING
THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE
WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville owns and operates an aff and
on-sale liquor business; and
WHEREAS, the City is in the business to control the sale of
liquor in a responsible manner; and
• WHEREAS, the City Council believes it is in the public
interest to support chemical prevention programs in the public school
districts that serve the students in Lakeville; and
WHEREAS, these programs in the districts will-enhance stu-
dents' understanding of the effects of alcohol use and help them to make
decisions on their personal use of alcohol in a responsible manner.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby
establishes the following policy and program toward assisting the school
districts' chemical prevention programs.
1. Up to ten percent (10y) of the annual operating income of the City
of Lakeville Liquor Stores shall be made available for the three
public school districts serving students from the City of Lake-
ville.

• 2. The funds will be available from the profits earned during 19$4 and
each following year.
3. The school districts may receive their share of the funds by
submitting a letter to the City Council that provides the number of
students in grades K thru 12 that live in the City of Lakeville, and
the funds will be pro rated on a per student basis.
4. The funds will be provided when there is an on-going organized
chemical prevention program in the school district.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Lakeville, Minnesota, this 7th day of December, 19$7.
