RESOLUTION .REQUESTING MULTIPLE ZIP CODE
DESIGNATION FOR LAKEVILLE, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville encompasses thirty-eight square
miles of land, .approximately ..18,000 residents and 6,427 mail boxes; and:
WHEREAS, the City is served. by four different. post offices with zip
codes as .follows: Rosemount, 55068; Farmington, 55024; .Burnsville,
55337 and Lakeville, 55044; and
• WHEREAS, this .leads. to a lack of community identity, confusing on
the actual location of .residential, commercial .and industrial properties
for-:residents, non-residents and businesses; and
WHEREAS, the present situation causes problems for persons attempt-
ing to locate the real Lakeville, Minnesota.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lakeville City .Council
' requests
1. The City of Lakeville be designated as a multiple zip code city
for .the purpose of allowing all mail addresses in Lakeville to
use ".Lakeville" as their mailing. address with the appropriate
zip code, depending upon. the location in the city and the post
office which serves than area of the city.

2. That a copy of this. resolution be forwarded to the St. Paul
• Postmaster..
