RESOLUTION ADJUSTING THE WAGE SCHEDULE BY POSITION
AND PROVIDING POLICY ON THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE SCHEDULE
WHEREAS, the City Council has received and adopted a compensation
report in 1978 for various employee positions; and
WHEREAS, the report was based on job content analysis by position,
and comparison of other public and private employment wage rates for
this area and similar positions; and
,WHEREAS, the report recommended wage rates that were competitive
and within the ability of the City to pay; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of a wage schedule by position will
provide for effective administration of a clear wage plan for employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
I. The following wage schedule by position is established effective
January 1, 1984.

II. Salary. and Wage Administration Policy:
1. The salary of an employee whose current salary exceeds the
maximum of the salary range shall be frozen until such time as
the City Council raises the range to provide for additional
salary opportunity.
2. The salary of an employee whose current salary is below the
minimum of the position range will be brought to at least the
minimum upon the implementation of the increases.
3. The evaluation and monthly salary for exempt classifications
and hourly wage for non-exempt clerical positions on the
minimum, mid-point and maximum merit plans shall be reviewed
and approved by the Personnel Committee of the City Council.
The City Administrator shall. present the recommendation for
each employee under these .plans to all council members when it
is forwarded to the Personnel Committee. The employee may
appeal the recommendation of the City Administrator to the
Personnel Committee. The. committee's decision shall be final.
4. New employees for positions not previously filled shall be
recommended to the City Council for approval by the City
Administrator, and all appointments to positions under the
exempt classification shall receive the approval of the City
Council.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Lakeville,
Minnesota, this 16th day of January 1984.
