RESOLUTION FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF TRAFFIC.
CONTROL ON HOLYOKE AVENUE IN THE
LAKEVILLE BUSINESS DISTRICT AREA
WHEREAS, the City Council believes that there needs to be improve-
ments. made to more effectively and safely provide for vehicle and
pedestrian traffic. as it involves Holyoke Avenue (T.H. 50) in the
business district area of Lakeville from 210th Street to 205th Street;
and
WHEREAS, there has been an increase of traffic on T.H. 50; and.
WHEREAS, there. has been two pedestrian accidents on T.H. 50 between
207th and 208th Streets in the past month; and
WHEREAS, the block is extra long in length and is the area where
heavy pedestrian traffic crosses the highway.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. The City Council requests the Minnesota Department of Transportation
to make a report to the. City Council on steps that can be taken now
and in the near future to control vehicle traffic on T.H. 50 so that
pedestrian safety in crossing the highway can be assured.
2. The City staff is directed to submit city proposals to M/DOT toward
solving these problems.
