HomeMy WebLinkAbout84-074 CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION Date June 4, 1984 Resolution No. 84-74 Motion by Harvey Seconded by Sindt RESOLUTION OF APPROVAL FOR THE CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT/PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT FOR THE LAKEVILLE SENIOR CENTER PROJECT WHEREAS, the City Council has set as a priority the construction of a Senior Center Building to serve all of the senior citizens in Lake- ville for various programs and services; and WHEREAS, the Senior .Center Project has received funding in part through a grant from the Community Development Block Grant Program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as administered by the Dakota County H.R.A. in the amount of $260,000 toward this project; and WHEREAS, the site selected for the project is adjacent to the 202/8 Senior Apartment Building on the east side of Holt Avenue south of 207th Street; and WHEREAS,the site provides the senior citizens a location near many of their residences and near business places, government offices and services; and WHEREAS, the site is satisfactory in terms of compatibility to the area; and WHEREAS, the facility will have capacity to serve over 100 persons at one time that may require future off-street parking facilities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: 1. The City Council approves the conditional use permit/planned. unit development for the project subject to the stipulations of the Planning Report dated May 10, 1984, from Northwest Associated Consultants, Inc. on the project. 2. That a variance is hereby granted for the off-street parking requirement due to the approval of .the private parking lot owner on the west side of Holt Avenue allowing the use of that. lot by the senior citizens until and unless the parking interferes with the use of this private parking lot. 3. That if the parking becomes a problem to other business in the area, the neighborhood and to the users of the building, the City Council will take appropriate steps to acquire additional off-street parking space for the facility adjacent to or near the Senior Citizen Center. 4. The City Engineer is directed to prepare a traffic control and sign plan to minimize the affect of any increased traffic from the project on the residential area near the project and present it to the council for consideration .and implementation.
