RESOLUTION ESTABLISH3NG A WAGE SCHEDULE BY POSITION AND
PROVIDING'POLICY 0'N THE ADMINISTRATION OF-fiHE SCHEDULE.
WHEREAS, the City council has .received and adopted a compen-
sation report-in 1978 for various employee positions; and
WHEREAS, the report-wasbased on job content analysis by
position, and comparison of other public and private employment wage
rates for thi area. and similar positions; and:
WHEREAS, the report recommended wage rates that 'were com-
pettive and within the abili y of the City to pay; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of a wage schedule by position
will provide for effective administration of a clear wage plan for
employees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:;
I. The following wage schedule by position is established effective
.....January 1, 1983'.

II. Wage administration Policy:
1. New employees may k~e placed on the wage schedule for any
position at a step that reflects relevant education anal
experience forthe-position, in accordance with budget
appropriations by the City Council and approval of he
City. Administrator.
2 The salary of an employee whose current salary is below
the minimum of the position range will be brought to'at
least the. minimum upon implementation of the increases.
3. The •City Administrator shall k~e responsible, for the effective,
fair and impartial evaluation of all employees in the
above positions, and shall direct and recommend the per-
formance evaluation for each employee under this plan to
the Personnel..Committee of the City Council.

5. New employees for positions not previously filled shall
be recommended to the City Council for approval by the
.City Administrator, and all appointments to positions
under the exempt classification shall receive the approval
of the City Council,
III. Severance Pay: Severance pay shall be granted to a full-time
employee based on the following schedule and conditions:
After five years of employment: 30$ of the employee's
unused sick leave.
After 1D years of employment: 40~ of the employee's unused
sick leave,
After 15 years of employment: •504 of the employee's unused
sick leave.
Only service with the. City of Lakeville for germanent full-
time employment shall be counted for the time required to
.qualify for severance pay.. The severance pay rate is to be
the hourly wage of the employee in effect at the date of
termination.
The employee must leave the employment and service to the City
in good standing and give the employer two weeks written
notice of termination.
IV, Hospitalization-Medical-Life Insurance: The employer will
pay any increase in .the employee insurance cost during 1983,
and 75% of any increase in the dependent insurance cost,
The employee shall be responsible for $16.85 plus 254 of_
any increase in the dependent cost after January 1, 1983.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of
Lakeville, Minnesota, this 3rd day of January 1983.
