HomeMy WebLinkAbout83-008 « CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION Date January 3, 1983 Resolution No. 83-8 r2otion by Sindt Seconded by Enright RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING.A WAGE SCHEDULE BY POSITION AND PROVIDING POLICY ON THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE SCHEDULE r?dHEREAS,:the City Council has received and adopted a compen- sation report in 1978 far various employee positions; and WHEREAS,. the report was based on job content analysis by position, and comparison of other public and x~rivate emx~loyment wage rates far this area and similar positions; and WHEREAS, the report .recommended wage rates that were compet- itive and within the ability af'the City to pay; and WHEREAS., the establishment of a wage schedule by ?~ositpn wi11 provide f_or effective 'administration of a clear wage plan far employees., NOW, THEREFORE, BE 2T RESOI~ZIED: I. New employees may be placed on the wage schedule for anv position at a step that reflects relevant education and experience fore the position, in accordance with. budget`appropriations by the City Council and approval of the City Administrator.' .~y b 2. .The salary of an employee whose current salary is below the minimum of the position range will be brought to at least the minimum upon implementation o~ the increases. 3. The City Administrator shall be responsible for the effective, fair and impartial evaluation of all employees in the above positions, and shall direct and recommend the perfor- mance evaluation for each employee 'under this plan to the Personnel Committee of the City i 4. 5, iJew employees for positions not previously filled shad be recommended to the City Council for approval by the City Administrator,. and all appointments to positions under the exempt classification shall receive the approval of the City Council. III. Severance Pay: Severance pay shall be granted to a ful_1-time employee based on the following schedule and conditions; Af ter five years of employment: 30g of the employee's unused sick leave. After 10 years of employment: 40~ of the employee's unused sick leave. After 15 years of employment: 50~ of the employee's unused sick leave. Only service with the City of Lakeville for permanent full- time employment. shall be counted for the time required to qualify for severance pay. The severance pay rate is to be the hourly wage of the employee in effect at the date of termination. The employee must leave the employment and service to the City in good standing and give the employer two weeks written notice of termination. iV. I3ospitalzation-hieclcal-Life Insurance: The employer will pay any increase in the employee insurance cost during .198.3, and 75~ of any increase in the dependent insurance cost. The employee shall be responsible for $16.85 plus 25~ of. any increase in the dependent cost after January 1,.1983.
