RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE FAMILY PUBLIC
HOUSING PROGRAM IN LAKEVILLE
WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville is in need of assisted housing.
for the elderly and families; and
WHEREAS, the Public Housing application submitted in 1981 for
the City by the Dakota County H.R.A. for both elderly and family units
was not selected for funding in Fiscal Year 1982, and no such funds. were
approp~a.~~;._~~•~. for this program in Fiscal Year 1983; and
WHEREAS, the Archdiocese of Minneapolis and St. Paul, through
its Community Development Corporation, has agreed to submit an application
for elderly units for the City under the Section 202 program this Fiscal
Year; and
WHEREAS, the City fully intends to honor its commitment to HUD
for providing assisted housing for families in addition to the elderly,
should the Section 202 application be funded,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council
of Lakeville, that should the Section 202 elderly application be funded,
the City will direct the Dakota County H.R.A. to modify the current
public housing application in HUD's pipeline to reflect the family units
only and will commit to leaving the amended application in such pipeline
for eventual funding so that the City's family unit needs are ultimately met.
