HomeMy WebLinkAbout81-054 CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION Date August 24, 1981 Resolution No. 81-54 Motion by Nelson Seconded by Sindt RESOLUTION STATING THE CITY OF LAKEVILLE'S SUPPORT FOR. THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN ACUTE CARE HOSPITAL AT 'THE RIDGES COMPLEx IN BURNSVILLE WHEREAS, the City of Lakeville has approximately 15,000 .citizens living within a thirty-eight mile area south of the Minnesota River and the City. of Burnsville;, and WHEREAS, citizens of Lakeville presently must travel several miles to access an acute care hospital facility; and WHEREAS, the conjested traffic conditions prevent timely and critical access-to acute care hospital facilities located north of the Minnesota River; and WHEREAS the ..City has the desire to support the establishment of an acute care hospital near Lakeville;. and WHEREAS, it is extremely Jiff-cult to attract physicians to .practice in a community that is distant from major hospital facilities. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Lakeville: 1. Supports the establishment of an acute care hospital at the Ridges Complex in Burnsville, ..near Lakeville. 2. Requests that the Metropolitan Health Board approve the necessary permit for the Fairview Ridges facility. as an important -and vital addition to the health care system for the citizens of Lakeville.
