RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING: AN EMPLOYEE COM_~FNSA'I'ION
PLAN. AND PROVIDING POLICY ON THE ADMINISTRATIO~t
OP THE PLAN FOR THE CITY .OF LAKEVILLE
WHEREAS, the City Council has received and adopted a compen-
satiom plan in 1978 for various .emx~loyee .positions; and ~
WHEREAS,, the xalan provides for ecuitable nay ranges by
;position based on job content evaluation, wage comparisons with similar
private and public employees, and the"City°s .ability and c®mpetitive
positions in attracting and retaining employeese and
WF3EREAS, the City Council .deems it necessary to adjust the
salary; ranges of the plane and
WHEREAS, City Council policy guidelines are. necessary .f_or
fair and effective adriinistration of the compensation Man.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that:
I, The. following ?positions and pay ranges, are approved
effective January 1, 182.

II. Salary and Wage. Administration Policy:
3. The salary of an employee whose current salary exceeds
the maximum of the salary range shall be frozen until
sucYa time as the City Council raises the range to
arovde for additional salary opportunity.

2, The salary of an employee whose current salary is
below the minimum of the position range will be
brought to at least the minimum upon implementation
of the. increases.
3, The City Administrator shall be responsible for the
effective, fair and impartial evaluation of alL em~?loyees
in the above positions,, and''shall direct and recommend
the performance evaluation%'for each employee under
this plan to the Personnel Committee of the City Council.
4. The evaluation and pay of an employee hall be reviewed
and approved, by the Personnel Committee of the `City
Council, .and-an employee may appeal the recommendation
of the administrator to the committee. The committees
.decision shall be final,
5. New. employees for positions not previously filled shall
be recommended to the City Council for approval by
the:.City Administrator, and all appointments to 'positions
under the exeanpt classification shall receive the approval
of, he City .Council.
III. Severance Pay: Severance Pay shall be granted to .a.f_u11-
time employee based: on the=following schedule and. conditions:
After five years. of employment: 30~ of the. employee's
unused sick leave.
After 10 yearn of employment: 40~ of the employee°s
unused sick. leave.
After.l5 years of_ employment;. 50~ of the emplo~ree's
unused sick leave:
-0nly service with the City of Lakeville for ~oermanent
full-time"employment shall be counted for the time required
to qualify for severance pay.. The severance payrate is
to be the salary of the employee in effect at the date
'of termination...
The. employee must leave. the employment and service to
the City-in good standing. and give the employer two
weeks written notice of termination.
IV. Hospitalization-Medical-Life. Insurance: The .employer will
~aay any increase in the employee insurance cost during 1.982,
and 75~ of any increase in the dependent insurance cost.
Theemployee-shall-be responsible far $15.85 plus 25~ of
any increase in the dependent cost after January 1, 1982.
