HomeMy WebLinkAbout80-009 CITY OF LAKEVILLE RESOLUTION Date January 2, 1980 Resolution No. 80-9 Motion by Zaun Seconded by Nelson RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE RETIREMENT BENEFIT FOR VOLUNTEER FIREMEN IN THE LAKEVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT RELIEF ASSOCIATION WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the Fire Relief Association and the Fire Department Committee of the City Council did meet concerning the lump sum retirement benefit; and WHEREAS, the Board and Committee did review proposals to increase the lump sum benefit above the. 1979 rate of $800 per year of service; and WHEREAS, the Board and Committee agreed to recommend an increase from $800 per year to $1,000 per year effective January 1, 1980 to remain in effect at $1,000 for 1980, 1981 and 1982; and WHEREAS, the Board advised the council of the acceptance of the proposed rate and term; and WHEREAS, the City Council did adopt the 1980 General Fund Budget with sufficient funds to permit a lump sum rate of $1,000 per year of service. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that: 1. The lump sum rate for the retirement benefit be set at $1,000 per year of service as per the by-laws of the Fire Relief Association. 2. The increase from $800 to $1,000 is effective as of January 1, 1980, and is to remain in effect from January 1, 1980 through December 31, 1982.
