COU~fCIL MEETING MAY 12, 1969
Item l The meeting was called'to order by Mayor Aronson with Taft,
Jensen, Sullivan and Mako present..
Item 2 The minutes of the Special May 1, 1969 meeting were read.
Sullivan made a motion seconded by Jensen to accept the minutes
as read. All 4 for. Motion carried.`
Item 3 Mako made a motion seconded by .Jensen to accept the minutes of
the Special May 7, 1969 meeting as read. All for, motion carried.
Item 4 Mako made a motion to amend the May 5, 1969 minutes to remove
22 property owners in Item 9. Taft seconded the motion. All 4 for,
the motion carried.
Item 5 Jensen made a motion seconded by Sullivan to appeo~.ethe minutes of
the May 5, 1969 meeting as All 4 for, motion carried..
Item 6 Mako moved to establish Mr. Ackerman's salary at $750 per month
retroactive to Feb. 1 and that he drives his own car. This would
b~ the established salary for the remainder of the year. Sullivan
seconded the motion. All 4 for, motion carried.
Item 7 Leonard Bentson appeared to request a couple of street lights by
his place at Lake Marion. This request was tabled until cost estimates
could be obtained.
Item 8 The minutes of the Special Meeting of the Sewer and Water Committee
were read. Fred Fredrickson explained that they would like ~o
have a feasability study in different areas of the western portion
of Lakeville.
Mako made a motion seconded by Jensen to follow the recommendation
of the Water & Sewer Committee to make a feasability study for the trunk
mains in sections 13, 24, 25, 30 ,19, 6, 7, 18, and the North
of section 5 of the Lakeville Village map, in addition to the study
already being made of sections 1, 2, 11, and 12 at an additional
cost of $4,500 to be paid by the Utility fund. The completion date
is to be no later than July 3l, 1969. All 4 for, motion carried.
Item 9 Gretchen Schaefer appeared-to request if there are any regulations.
in regards to her putting in a beauty parlor in her hailer at
Queen Anne Trailer Court. She has-the permission of the property
owners and the neighbors.
Jensen made a motion seconded by Mako that permission be granted
to Gretchen Schaefer for the beauty shdp. All 4 for, motion carried.
Item 10 Hank Lau and Leonard Bentson explained that they thought .the
new dance hall ordinance was unreasonable in that it would force
most cabaret owners out of business due to the stringent insurance
regu]ations. Mr. Bentson explained that he would like to see a
more enforcible ordinance passed and this one rescinded. It was
decided to let Mr. Bentson and Mr. Lau redisgra the ordinance-
and bring it back to the council for review.
Item 11 It was decided to table the Park and Recreation nomination for
another week.
Item 12 The clerk was instructed to send Pat Farrell a copy of the new
fire agreements with Apple Valley and a copy of the squad car bid..

Item 13 Sullivan made a motion seconded by Mako to grant Lavern Nelson
a variance to build his garage closer to the property line
than the ordinance allows. All in favor, motion carried.
Item 14 Buss Ackerman explained that ..there had been some complaints
about the Texaco Station at Highway 35 and 50 in re: it had no
fence and. was in need of cleaning up. Mr. Ackerman was advised
to have the Village Attorney write them a letter.

The sewer problem/was mentioned and it was explained that for the
present, a 12' to 16" ditch, 2 to 2~ ft deep with rock on the botton
drain tide with more rock on top of that could be installed. This
would in turn drain into the field in back into the little pond.
A meeting is to beset up with Rosene and Farrell present.
Item 15 A letter from the League of Minnesota Municipalities was. read
in re a meeting being held the 28th of May, 1969 at Rosemount, Minn.
Item 16 Sullivan made a motion seconded by Mako to hire Clifton Anderson
as a police officer All 4 for. Motion carried.
Item 17 Sullivan made a motion seconded by Mako to instruct the clerk
to write to Midwest Federal.. Savings that to the council's knowledge
there are no pending assessments againstproperty described as:
Lots 2 (2), three (3), four (4), five (5), eleven {il), `
twelve (12), thrirteen(13}, fourteen (14), fifteen (15)
sixteen (16), seventeen (17), eighteen (18},nineteen (19),
and twenty (20~ Block two (2) Lakeville Nils, Dakota
County, Minnesota
Lots 2(~'two) three (3) five {5), six (6), seven (7), eight (8),
Block three (3) Lakeville Hills, Dakota County, Minnesota
Lots four {4), seven (7}, twelve (12), thirteen (13),
Block four (4), Lakeville Hitis, Dakota .County, Minnesota.
All in favor, motion carried.
Item 18 Sullivan made a motion seconded by Mako to instruct the clerk
to write to Midwest Title Guarantee Company that to the council's
knowledge, there are no pending assessments against property described
as:
Lost 13 (thirteen) and. i4 (fourteen),. Block 3 (three)
Liberty Heights.
All in favor, motion carried.
Item 19 Jensen moved to have the clerk make out the new set-up license;
for Arlene Piath of the Lakeville Bowl for the year
starting July 1, 1969 thrpagh June 30, 1970 and this will allow them
to use this immediately. Seconded by Taft. All 4 for, motion carried.
Item 20 Taft Made a motion seconded by Sullivan to grant Minnregs their set-up
license for the year beginning July1,:1969 and this will. allow them to
-use it for the remainder of this year. All in favor, motion carried.
Item 21 It was decided to send Pat Farrell the R.R. petition..
Item 22 Sulli-van made a motion seconded by Mako to adjourn. Meeting adjourned.
