rr< ~ ~ COUNCIL MEETLNG JUNE 2, 1969 Item 1 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Aronson with Jensen, Sulllvan, Mako and Taft present. Item 2 Sullivan made a_motion seconded by Jensen to accept the minutes of the May 19, 1969..meetng as read: All 4 in favar, motion .carried. Item 3 Jensen made a motion seconded by Mako to approve the minutes of the .special May 27, 1969 meeting as read. All 4 in favor, motion carried: Ttem 4 Jensen made a motion to have the mayor contact the REA and have 4 street lights installed in Valley Park.. Mako seconded the. motion. Ali 4 in favor, motion carried. Jensen will continue to investigate the possibility of stopsigns.. Item 5 A letter from Gus Lyden re: liquor license was read. with no action taken. Item 6 Jensen made a motion seconded by Sullivan to have the clerk sign gas permit s-101-1969 as corrected by Mr. Rosene. A11 in favor, motion carried. Item 7 Taft moved to follow R©bert Rosene's recommendation on a change order at Airlake Industrial. Park as follows: Contractor: D. W. Hickey & Co. etc. Descri~Dtion of Work An additional gate valve was installed in the discharge main to allow use of the elevated tank prior to completion_of the pumphouse. An additional length. of `discharge amin was required due to the moving of the well approximately i8' from its original planned location. Item 8 Jensen moved to paint the water reservoir at Valley Park .the same color as the one at Airlake (No. 777 Sky Blue with Blask lettering) with Valley Park written below the Lakevi]le lettering. Mako seconded the motion. A11 4 in favor, the motion carried. Item 9 Sullivan made a motion seconded by Jensen to .adopt the. resolution re; lights at Minnreg Rd and CSAH 70 Resolution attached. All 4 in favor, motioncarried. Item 14 Mr. Quist appeared before the counci l to request permission to hookup the sewer to the east of the Skelly Oil Station. A manhole would be installed. It was suggested that a letter of agreement be obtained. from the property owners of Lot 6 Block 4, College Park. It was also suggested that there be a two year guarantee for the work. Jensen made a resolution that approval be granted to Skelly .Oil for this hookup. subject to the approval of Robert Rosene with a letter of intent and the written statement of the property owner being on file. PAGE TWO--COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 2, 1969 Item 11 Vic or Eklund appeared to request for a variance from the ord,~nce and for a building permit. Jensen moved to grant them a variance from the ordinance and that .the building permit be granted subject to filing copy. of the perpetual easement with the clerk. Sullivan seconded the motion. Sullivan and Jensen for, Mako and Taft against.. Mayor Aronson voted yes and the motion was carried. Item 12 Mayor Aronson mentioned that Minnreg Road ditches were going to be reshaped which should finish the road. Item 13 The clerk was instructed to write to the Scott County Engineer that the Lakeville Council would like to have them place a stop sign. on Scott County 91 at the intersection of Judicial Road and suggested that the island on the westerly side of Judicial Road be removed for safety reasons. It was also suggested that speed signs be placed on Minnreg Road. Item 14 The Village Engineer reported that he had checked out the paintigg of the tank at Airlake and that it was completed. He also mentioned that the well nr 2 at Valley Park had been tested.. Pittsburg DesMoines Co. had reported that the steel for the tank would be later than planned and wanted an extension of time for their contract. Mako made a mation to direct Mr. Rosene to write a letter toStheiPittsburg Des-, Moines to the effect that the extension had been denied. Jensen seconded the motion. All in favor, motion carried. Item 15 Mr. Farrell reported that he had contacted the owner of the Texaco Co. at hiv~ays 50 and 35W who would use the letter sent him to get some action from the station operator. Item 16 Mr. Farrell also reported that it appeared that the Weisner property was being sd`1d under contract for deed and that this would not appear on the records until the property was paid for. He felt that the subdivision o~Fdinance should be enforced against Weisner and that he should be forced to plat this area. Mako made a motion.. to instruct Mr. Farrell to pursue possible alternatives in regards to the Weisner property and send a report to the council by June 9,1969. Jensen seconded the motion, R11 in favor, motion carried. Item 17 The Water & Sewer Committee minutes were read. Ed Mako read the report of the samples taken of the water in Glenn Addition. There is an indication that there is a considerable amount of nitrates in the water at a number of homes and it was suggested that these homes don't use their water to make baby formula. Mako made a motion that the clerk send these reports to each individual home owner and that the Village table any other action on this problem until after the sewer report is fin. Taft seconded the motion. All 4 for, motion carried. Item 18 The minutes of the Planning Commission were read. A meeting was set for Monday June 9, 1969 for the planning commission to meet with the council to finish up going over the ordinance. ~ • ~ PAGE THREE--COUNCIL MEETING JUNE 2; 1969 Item 19 A letter from Gus Lyden re: liquor permit was read to the council. No action was taken at thi time.. Item 20 The councilreviewed the Justice of Peace reports of Clint Cross. and.Walter King, Jr. Item 21 Jensen made a motion seconded by Taft to grant Greg-Klotz a trailer permit. Taft, Mako and Jensen for. Sullivan abstained. The motion carried. Item 22 Mako made a motion seconded by Sullivan to adjourn. The meeting was adjourned.
