Item 1 The meeting-was called to order by Acting Mayor, Robert Jensen
with Mako, Sullivan nd Taft present.
Item 2 Mako made a motion seconded by Taft to accept the minutes of the
June. 9, 1969.meeting as read. All 4 for, motion carried.
Item 3 Sullivan made a motion`seconded by Taft to pay the Village bills.
All 4`for, motion carried.
Ltem 4 Taft Made a motion seconded by Mako to pay the Municipal Liquor .Store
bills. All 4 for, motion carried.
Item 5 Mr. Welcher appeared with Mr. Moberg regarding a restaurant
on Mr. Moberg's property. He mentioned. that ane bigproblem
to a restaurant there, was the property in front of it. He`
world,also like to be able to serve liquor there.
Item 6` Theefiearing fora the vacation.. of East Ave. lying N. of its
.intersection with Spruce St. was opened with. Clint Cross. and
Felix Tilges present.
Taft made a motion to vacate all of East Ave. lying North
of its intersection with Spruce Street.
Sullivan seconded.: the. motion. all 4 for, motion carried...

Item 7 Two bills were presented to/council by Bob Rosene for the. deep.
weld and elevated: tank at Airlake. Mako made a motionseconded.
by Taft to pay these bills. All 4 for, motion carried.
Item 8 Sullivan made a motion seconded by Taft to set 8:30 P.M. July
7, 1.969, for the acceptance of the squad car bids. Ail 4 for,
motion carried.
Item 9 John Wilcox reported that the J C's and the :Lions Club would like
to buy 10 refuse cans at $50 per can. They would pay half if the
Village would pay the other. half.
Mako made a motion seconded by Sullivan to postpone a decision
until later in the evening.. All 4 for, motion carried.
Item 10 The hearing on tt~e Forest Hills Sewer Improvement was opened.
Mr. Ackerman explained to the residents the temporary type of
improvement involved. He had two bids,_one for $2,500 and
one for$1,755.
Pat Farrell, Village attorney, explained that .there could be
3 alternates to base the assessment on:
°I.. assess the 19 lots in the proposed area $100
2. assess the 14 lots: on Jersey Way at a cost of $135. per .unit
3. assess the lots on Jersey Way 100% at $115 per lot andthe-
5 lots on Java Ct. at 50% at $57:50 per lot.
This would be determined after the project is completed.
Martin Bodine wanted to know if there was evidence that the
drainage was coming. from up above.. Dick Reese felt. that the
problem was a collective one and was. coming from all the cesspools.
Tim McGuire anapprentice plumber, was of the opinion Ghat the
project would not work at a two foot depth and would freeze in the`
winter.
Mr. Farrell explained to thehome~rners that more than likely they
had no recourse to law as their home guarantees had expired after
this length. of time.
After much discussion about lot Dl being the cause of ali the
problem, Mr. Lyden said he and the home owner world-investigate the

situation of Lot 11 and report back to the council.
Sullivan made a motion'seconded by Taft to table the hearing
until July 7, 1969 at 9:3Q'P.M. when Gus Lyden will come in with
the results of his tests.
A11-4 for, motion carried.
Item 11 Mr. Dennehy appeared with a preliminary plat for an apartment
complex on-.5.37 acres of Marrinan property an 205th-St. and
Hughes Ave. of Sec. 29, T. 114, R. 20. He explained that-the
Planning Commission would. like to have a tentative ok of the
council before goingahead with the hearing. Sullivan made
a motion seconded by Taft to approve the preliminary plat.
All 4 for, motion carried.
Item 12 Ed Mako explained that the school wanted a key to the dump fore
the sinner months: Mako made a motion to.extend the ful use of the
dump to the Lakeville Schools during the summer months and to ,give
them a key There-will be a one month trial period. Sullivan
seconded themotion. Mako, Sullivan and Jensen voted for:. Taft
opposed. The motion carried.
Item 13 Mako made a motion seconded by Sullivan to authorize the
Pl~~nning Commission to hold a hearing on thezoning ordinance
on July 28, 1969, at 8:30 P.M. All 4 for, motion carried.
.Item 14 Sullivan made..a motion to follow the Park and. Recreation
Committee recommendaton'to have the maintenance department take
down all the chain link fencing, posts., and pipes from around the
bull pen south of the city hall. a nd that. the necessary piping be
purchased to build a baseball back stop for Tilges Park Terrace
Addition, 1st Part. The chain link fencing from the old bull pen
will_be used in the back stop.
This motion was seconded by Taft with all voting for the :motion..
motion .carried. The clerk was instructed to contact Mr. Nelson.
Item 15 Taft made a motion seconded by Mako to enter into purchasing of 6
refuse cans with the.Lionsand JC's. All 4 For,'motion carried.
Item 16 Mr. Jensen reported that two men had been interviewed for the
police department. Sullivan made a motion seconded by Mako to hi~ee
Mike Gerrety for the. police department.. Sullivan, Jensen and Mako
for, Taft. opposed. Motio carried.
Ltem 17 Mako made a motion seconded by Taft that Lakeville does not enter
.into the. summer recreation program with Apple .Valley. A1`J 4 for,
motion carried.
Item 18 The clerk was instructed to write Action News that the request
for a fence along the creek at Valley Park had never..been'brought
before the council.
Item 19 Thee clerk was instructed to bring Dr. Longs request for limited
parkingsigns to the attentionof the police.
Item 20 Taft made a motion seconded by Sullivan to have the clerk writo
to the Commissioner of Highways of the State of Mineesota to request
the authorization to reduce the speed limit past Connelly's Trailer
Lourt on service drive from Highway 50 to 165th St. All 4 for,
motion carried.
.Item 21 A motion by sullivan seconded by Taft to adjourn was carried.

We recomend to the Council that necessary piping be purchased .
to build a baseball back stop for Tilges Park Terrace Addition,
lst park.
t~e further recomend that the chain liiak fencing be used from
the old bull pen south of.ci.ty hall be used in the back. scope
The back stop will be installed by area residents. Contact
LaUern Nelson 469-2387 who, will have the necessary measurements
for the back stop and who will be in charge of the installation.
