HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-02-69 !w 1 LAKEVILLE COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 2, 1969 The meeting was called to order by Mayor Aronson with M ako; Taft, Sullivan and Jensen present. Item l- Sullivan made a motion seconded by Taft .that the-minutes of Aug. 18, 1969 meeting stand as read. All 4 for, motion carried. 'Item 2 Jensen made a motion seconded by Taft to approve the minutes of the Special meeting of Aug. 19, 1969. All far, motion carried. Item 3 Maynard Johnson appeared to request a special variance fbr the Thorwyn Co. to start building before the permit is granted. This company had been burned out of its former building. Sullivan made a motion seconded by Taft to grant the Planning Commission recommendation tha the procedure be varied on Thorwyn Mfg. Cn.'s request for a building permit because of the limited time allowed Airlake Industrial Park for the completion of bulking and that construction be allowed, at the Village Council's discretion with the. understandingthat the public hearing will be held on the 15th"of Sept., 1969. Taft, Sullivan, Jensen and Aronson for, Mako opposed. Motion carried. Item 4 Mako made a notion restricting building permits at Airlake industria~'Park until the 660 feet on .the East and West sides of Hamburg Ave.from Highway 50 south to Eureka Township's North line by Dec. X11, 1969. Jensen seconded the motion. Mako for, Taft Sullivan, and Jensen opposed. Motion failed to-carry. item 5 raft Made a motion seconded by"Sullivan to follow the Planning Commission recommendation that Airlake Industrial Park plat 660 .feet on the East and West sides of Hamburg. Ave. from Highway 50 to Eur~ka's`North line by .Dec. 11, 1969, or no .further building permits will be acted upon.. Taft, Sullivan and.Mako:.for, Jensen, and: Aronson ..opposed.. Motion carried.. Item 6 Jensen made a motion seconded by Sullivan to approve the Hi11-Dee preliminary plat subject to deed being extended to the Village of .92 acres and other park land being dedicated. All 4 for, motion carried Item 7 Sullivan made a motion seconded by Jensen for three building permits being granted to.Harris and Jorgensen Jensen, Taft and Sullivan for, Mako opposed. Motion carried. Item 8 Buss Ackerman reported that Dick Hoppe is dumping ser~age down a hilt .near :Queen Anne Trailer Court. He felt that the Village should have some sort of an Ordinance to control this situation. Mr. Farrell advised that a complaint could be filed against Mr. Hoppe... .:.for creating a nuisance. and that a letter could be sent to the Queen Anne Trailer Court to appear before the council to give an explanation of what they are doing with the steerage and what they expeKCt to do with. it in the future.. Mako made a motion seconded. by Jensen to have the Village Attorney take legal steps to prosecute. .All 4 for, motion carried. Item 9 The Planning Corr~aission had moved to deny the gravel permit for M.G. Astleford due to the fact that Astleford wanted this permit for five years . Sullivan moved to deny zonigg and a gravel permit to M.G. Astleford. Jensen seconded the motion. Jensen, Sullivan and Mako for, • ~ • PAGE TWO COUNCIL MEETING SEPTEMBER 2, 1969 Taft opposed. Motion carried.. Item 10 The Justice of the Peace reports were reviewed. The clerk was instructed to return Mr. Cross' two reports. Item 1l R jaintmeeting of the council and Water & Sewer committee was set for the 17th of Se~Dt. when the engineer would. present. his report on the sewer survey. Item 12 The water line on Howland Ave. was discussed with Ken`Larson who is building ahouse there. The records will be earched .for information in regard to this matter. Item 13 Sullivan made a motion seconded by Jensen to allow up to $300.00 for fencing to be put up by the-Jaycees e~ the park west of Hughes. All 4 for, motion carried. Ttem 14 Taft made a motion seconded by Sullivan to send Dick Nordling to the accounting school... Motion. carried. Item 15 Sullivan made a motion seconded by Taft to buy A. Sauser a new typewriter. ..Motion ca~~ied. Item 16 Several letters were t the council. Item 17 The requests from Honeywell re. bingo, and other games was set. aside for the next meeting until this is investigated. the request by Minnreg for a v©te on Sunday liguer was also set back fore next week. Item`18 Jensen made a motion seconded by Mako to instruct the clerk to inform Midwest Title Guarantee Co. that to the council's knowledge as of Sept. 2, 1969, there are. no pending assessments against property .described as: Lot. 2, Block 1, Oakshores Addition No. 3. Motion carried. Item 19 Sullivan made a motion seconded by Jensen to instruct .the clerk t© inform Freewa Rea]ty that to the. council's knowledge as of sept. 2, 1969, here are no pending assessments against property described as: That part of Lot A, Glenn Addition, described as follows: Commencing 82.5 feet North of the Southwest corner of said Lot A; thence North 90 feet; thence East 135 feet; thence South 90 feet; thence West 135 feet to the point of beginning. Dakota County, Minnesota. All 4 for, motion carried. Item 20 Sullivan made a motion seconded by Mako to adjourn. ,Motion carried.
