HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-06-69 { ~ ~ VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 6, 1969 1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Aronson with Taft, Jensen and Mako present. Also present Pat Farrell, Village Attorney and Robert Frigaard, Village. Engineer. 2. Jensen. made a motion seconded by Mako to accept the minutes of the Sept. 15, 1969, meeting with the correction that 30 feet on the .west side of Farmers Union was rezoned commercial industrial. All 3 for, motion carried. 3. Jensen made a motion seconded by Taft to accept the min~~es of the Sept. 22, 1969 meeting as read. All for, motion carried. 4. A motion was made by Jensen seconded by Mako to accept the minutes of the Sept. 30, 1969 special meeting as read. Motion carried. 5. The Justice of the Peace report presented by Clint Cross was neviewed by the council. 6. John Antolik appeared to request a speed sign or .children at play sign at Jamaica and Oak Shore Drive. Jensen made a motion seconded by Taft to have Ray Henry put up .the .necessary signs at Jamaica and Oak Shore Drive. All for, Motion. carried. 7. Mayor Aronson reported on the seal coating at Lake Marion and Orchard Lake roads, the. stove in Riley Lewis' office, Minnreg Road. and the water extension and hydrant on Howland Ave. 8. Jensen made a motion to approve the. police car specs and to advertise them for bid with the bid closing at 9 o'clock P.M. on the .3rd of N~av. 1969. Taft seconded the motion with the vote 3 for, the motion carried. 9. It was reported that Eldon Fossum would like a portion of Java Ct. accepted by the Village. The clerk was instructed to get the proper description-of the road so that this matter could be taken care of by the council on October 6, 1969. 10. Jerome Clay reported to the council that he felt the Planning Commission had not studied the zoning map enough to have a hearing at this time. After some discussion., Jensen made a motion that_the P~,anning Commission proceed with the hearing on the 15th of Oct. 1969. Mako seconded the motion. Jensen, Mako and Aronson for. Taft opposed.- . Motion carried. The hearing was later set for October 22, 1969 because of conflicting uses at the school. 11. Mr. Clay also discussed the mobile home park wfth the council and asked if it would be passible to have an operating contract between the Village and owners to make the owners live up to certain conditions. The general feeling was' that this could be done. assessment 12. Jensen moved that the/hearing for Bassett Road (Orchard Trail} be held at 9 o'clock P.M. Monday October 20, 1969. Taft seconded the motion with all in favor, motion carried. 13. .Jensen made a motion seconded by Taft to hold the assessment hearing on Minnreg R®ad at 9`18 P.M. October 20, 1969. All in favor, motion carried. 14. The hearings on the closing of Judicial Rd. were to be held on Friday Oct. 10th at 9 o'clock A. M. at Hastings and the clerk was instructed to Took up the original records on the case. 15. The Water & Sewer Commission Minutes for Sept. 17 and Oct. 1, 1969, r ~ ~ ~ ~ t PAGE TWO LAKEVILE VILLAGE COUNCIL MEETING OCTOBER 6, 1969 were read to the council by Don Fanum. The clerk was- instructed to send letters to the Apple Valley mayor and council requesting a meeting with them to discuss the sewer plant at Valley Park (~~cantract and. possible purchase)... The recommendation that Stanley Stevens read the water meters in Valley Park at the end of the monthprior to the billing, and the old village of Lakeville meters at the first of the month, was tabled until. Oct. 13, 1969. 16. Jensen made a motion seconded by-Taft to follow the planning Commission recommendation and grant approval. to Denny Dunham request for a bailding permit.. All 4 for, permit granted. 17. The building inspector presented his monthly report.. He also told the council <that Lakeville Farking would like to move -a light in their parking lot. Taft made a motion seconded by Mako to authorize the tight to be moved. All for:, motion carried. 18. Mako made a motion seconded by Jensen to raise the cost of the water meters to $60. ..All 4 for, motion carried. 19. Jensen made a motion seconded by Taft to have the building inspector- attend the special school on Dec. fi5; 16, and 17, 1969 with the .cost of $32. paid by the Village. All 4 for, motion carried... 20. The print of the proposed planfor improving County Road 15 where the County Road crosses 190th St. was reviewed by .the council Jensen made a motion seconded bgr Taft to have the clerk write to .the County Nighway Engineer.that the Cougcil approves of the puns.` A1T 4 for,.motoncarried. 21. The Village .Attorney,., Pat-Farrell, instructed the clerk t~tnform the Dakota County Abstract Co. that there ire no pending assessments against property described as: The West 75 feet of Lr~ A, B1'ock Lenihan's Lots Antlers Park. He advised that The Dakota .County Abstract Co. check with the Dakota County Auditor for any assessments now. current against the above, property. 22. Jensen made a motion seconded: by Mako that to the 'councils knowledge as of Oct. 6, 1969, there are no assessments pending ,against property. described as: Lot 10, Block 5, Oak Shore 2nd Additen. All 4 for, motion carried. 23. Jensen made a motion seconded by Taft that to the council's knowledge as of Oct. 6, 1969, there are no assessments. pending against ..property described as: 2/4 Vern Donnay Valley Park 2nd Add. 16579 Rosemount.
