VILLAGE OF LAKEVILLE COUNCIL METING NOVEMBER 3, 1969
1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Aronson with Taft,
Sullivan, Mako and Jensen present.; Also present were the village
engineer and attorney.
2. Taft made a motion seconded by Sullivan that the minutes of the
October 20, 1969 meeting stand as read. All 4 for, motion carried.
3. Mako made a motion seconded by Taft to accept the minutes of the
special Oct. 21, 1969 meeting as read.' A11 4 for, motion carried.
4. Don Tatge appeared to request information regarding the
Marrinen property. He was informed to come in the next day to
see the records in the village safe.
5. Mr. Clarkson from Valley Park asked about the new signs in
Valley Park which read 15 miles per hour while the old ones
read 30 mph. They were informed that the state law is 30 mph.
Mr. Clarkson then asked if possibly stop signs at certain streets
would help the speed situation.
Mako made a motion to turn this matter over to the police department
and have them come up with a recommended policy of speed limits
and uniform signs for the whole village... Jensen seconded the
motion. The motion carried.
6. Taft made a motion seconded by Jensen to purchase a file for
the police..department. All 4 for, motion carried.
7. The bids on the police car were closed at 9 o'clock P.M..
Three bids were received as follows:
Glen Chevrolet--bid $2,985.00 with a cashier's check inclosed for
$150.00
Joe Graeve Motores--$2,935.00--cashier's .check for $150 enclosed
Farmington Auto--three bids--
$2,834.93--$150.00 cashier's check enclosed
$2,912.93
$2,968.59
Sullivan moved to table. bids until they are studied. Taft seconded
the motion. Ali in favor, the motion carried.
8. Buss Ackerman presentedhis building report.
9. Jensen moved that the building permit fee be waived for'the
new school in Valley Park a Taft seconded with all in favor the
motion carried.:
10. Mr. Gerald Beech appeared to request permission to build
an $890 addition to his trailer in Connelly's Trailer court.
The addition would be 10 x 12 feet. He was instructed to take
this matter to the Planning Commission.
11. Rudy Petrofske requested permission to build a garage that
measured 28' x 30' as he has .closed off the garage under his
house. The Council informed him that they had no objection to
this building..

1:#. Mr. McAllister, the dog. catcher appeared to discuss the
problems he has with trying to enforce the Dog Ordinance.
He feels there should be a stricter dog leashing law like
there is in Burnsville. The Village attorney said that he
would send .copies of the Burnsville Ordinance to all :members
of the council so that°this matter could be studied.
12. Mr. Peterson reported to the council that Nov. 15th was
the day the Boy Spouts would like to pick up litter in the streets
as their part in/Citizenship Month program.

13. The Planning Commission minutes for Oct. 30, 1969, were read.
14. Francis Finnegan appeared on behalf of Bob,Stanford to request
a permit fora mobile home on the Rohr property. No signatures
from the neighbors had been obtained. John Clarke objected
to putting another mobile home on this site.
Sullivan moved seconded by Jensen to grant this permit with.
the stipulation that a house would have to built in three years.
Sullivan and Jensen for, Mako and Taft opposed. The Mayor broke
the voting no. Motion. failed.
15. Feliwtappeared before the council with his preliminary plat.
It was decided to check to see if the Railroad would grant
permission fora crossing for the necessary road on the east
side of this plat and whether or not the necessary acess to
the state trunk highway could be obtained.
16. Jorgensen and Harris' Hill-Dee Addition wasc discussed by
J. Clay and the council. The Hill-Dee matter will come. before
the P3anning Commission on the 13th of Nov.
i7. .Ross Bassett informed the council that he was planning some.
beach improvement but needed the signature of the Mayor on
the necessary document to go ahead with this project.
Jensen made a motion seconded by Sullivan that this be approved
and the document be signed. All for, motion carried.
18. Mr. Dyson discussed the front end loader specs with the council.
He will bring the rough specs in later for the clerk to type up.
19. Taft made a motion seconded by Sullivan to set Dec.l, 1969 at
9.00 o'clock P.M. for closing of the bids for a front end loader.
All 4 far, motion carried.
Z0. Jensen made a motion seconded by Taft that the bid from the Glen
Chevrolet Co. for the police car be accepted. A11 4 for, motion
carried.
21. Taft moved to return the other two checks to the unsuccessful
bidders. Sullivan seconded the motion. All in favor, ration carried.
22 Mako made a motion seconded by Sullivan to instruct the clerk
to write to Jay P. O'Connor that to the council's knowledge
there are no pending assessments against property described on the
attached legal description s~i~ property being in Club Park

23. Sullivan made a motion seconded by Taft to adjourn. Meeting
adjourned.
