HomeMy WebLinkAbout0307 4 ORDINANCE NO. 307 CITY OF LAKEVILLE DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 3, CHAPTER 8 OF THE LAKEVILLE CITY CODE CONCERNING GARBAGE AND RUBBISH COLLECTORS The Lakeville City Council ordains: Section 1. Title 3, Chapter 8 of the Lakeville City Code is amended by adding Section 3-8-5 to read as follows: 3-8-5 Limitation on Number of Licenses. A. Purpose: A limitation on the number of garbage and rubbish collectors in the City is necessary for the following reasons: proper inspection and control is more difficult as the number of haulers increases, more trucks create more noise, more haulers creates an increased risk to public safety, more haulers will decrease efficiency and increases rates. B. No more than twelve (12) licenses to engage in the business of collecting garbage and/or rubbish may be in force at any one time. The licenses shall be allocated first to persons who were licensed in the City on February 2, 1987. Section 2. This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage and publication.
