CITY OF LAKEVILLE
DAKOTA COUNTY, MINNESOTA
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 4, CHAPTER 1 OF
THE LAKEVILLE CITY CODE BY ADDING PROVISIONS
CONCERNING THE LENGTH OF GRASS RND WEEDS
The Lakeville City Council ordains as follows:
Section 1. Title 4, Chapter 1 of the Lakeville City Council
is amended by adding Section 3 to read as follows:
4-1-3: LENGTH OF WEEDS AND GRASS
A. Weeds or grass in excess of twelve (12) inches in
length, on any lot less than one acre in size that
has a building constructed on it, is a public nuisance
and is prohibited.
B.. Weeds or grass in excess of twelve (12) inches in
length, on any lot less than one acre in size that
abuts a lot that has a building constructed on it,
is a public nuisance and is prohibited.
C. After giving the owner or occupant of a lot not in
compliance with the length limitation for grass and
weeds seven (7) days advance written notice of the
non-compliance, the City may cut, or cause to be cut,
the grass and weeds and may assess the cost against
the property in accordance with Minnesota Statute
§ b29.01.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be effective immediately
upon its passage and publication.
Adopted by the Lakeville City Council this lst_ day of
December 1986.
