CITY OF LAKEVILLE SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING
MAY 14,1992
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Acting Mayor Sindt, Roll
call was taken. Present: Councilmembers Ruhmann, Sindt and Harvey.
Absent: Mayor Zaun and Councilmember Mulvihill.
Also present: Robert Erickson, City Administrator; Dave Delmonico, Police
Investigator and Charlene Friedges, City Clerk.
Investigator Delmonico presented the application of Ran & Ben Meledandri,
a.k.a. Diamond Food Services, Inc., for an on-sale and Sunday liquor license
at the Super 8 Motel, 20800 Kenrick Avenue. He explained that the
Meledandri's currently hold a club liquor license at Brackett's Crossing
Country Club. With the recently adopted ordinance amendment, they are now
able to obtain a second .liquor license in the City.. Mr. Delmonico stated
background checks on the applicants and manager have been completed, and are
found to be clear of any concerns relating to the issuance of a liquor
license. He further stated that taxes on the property have been paid, an
insurance certificate has been submitted, and the. lease agreement with
Aberdeen Real Estate Partnership is in order.
In answer to Councilmember Harvey's question regarding signage, Mr. Ron
• Meledandri stated the sign facing and awning will be replaced to read, "Tower
Restaurant & Lounge' ; however, the size of the signs will remain the same.
He stated they would like to officially open on June 1st.
Mr. Erickson called to the Council's attention a modification to the lease
agreement as advised by the City Attorney, which brings the agreement into
compliance with rules and regulations of the Liquor Control Commission.
92.106 Motion was made by Harvey, seconded by Ruhmann to grant an on-sale and Sunday
liquor license to Diamond Food Services, Inc. d.b,a. Tower Restaurant &
Lounge, 20800 Kenrick Avenue.
Roll call was taken on the motion. Ayes, Ruhmann, Sindt, Harvey.
There being no further business, Acting Mayor Sindt adjourned the meeting at
7:08 p.m.
